How to Make Money
part 3

According to the U.S. Surgeon General report, obesity is responsible for 300,000 deaths every year in the U.S.

Obesity is a growing concern especially because overweight rates have doubled among children and tripled among adolescents. This increases the number of years that they are exposing themselves to dangerous health risks associated with obesity. While it is difficult to truly predict the future impact of obesity, there is strong scientific agreement that obesity significantly increases the risk of serious chronic diseases and contributes to overall mortality.

Here are 20 diseases or conditions that can be attributed to obesity:
1. Diabetes 2. Cancer 3. Congestive Heart Failure 4. Enlarged Heart 5. Pulmonary Embolism 6. Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome 7. Gastro esophageal Reflux Disease 8. Fatty Liver Disease 9. Hernia 10. Erectile Dysfunction 11. Urinary Incontinence 12. Chronic Renal Failure 13. Lymph edema 14. Cellulitis 15. Stroke 16. Pickwickian Syndrome 17. Depression 18. Osteoarthritis 19. Gout 20. Gallbladder Disease

And this is just a start. What do we do? Look for quick fixes, fad diets, how to not exercise for more than 8 minutes a day and basically not care enough about ourselves to learn how to take care of ourselves properly.

Last week I talked about what the oldest text book we have, The Bible, says about nutrition and health. Now let's look at what the main nutrients are and how to put nutrition together for each of us. First let's define the main nutrients we all talk about.

Yoga is for Men and Women

First off Yoga isn't some weird Eastern religion, it isn't a religion at all. And it's not only practiced by women either. A lot of top athletes in pro sports do Yoga that includes men and women.

At its heart, yoga is an amazing exercise system with over 5,000 years of road testing behind it. It's fun, it's different, and it's a terrific complement to any other activities you currently enjoy.

This simple but incredibly effective method:
Vastly improves flexibility
Increases strength and muscle tone
Instills superior balance and body control
Improves breathing and oxygen intake
Improves athletic performance

Office Chair Blues

Alright all you 9 to 5 office workers that are stuck in a chair all day long! I'm here to tell you that you can still do exercises at your desk without it interfering with work productivity! But first let's examine what is happening to your muscles when you sit for a long period.
Sitting for long periods of time shortens your hip flexor and hamstring muscles. This shortening of the muscles causes them to tighten which in turn causes strain on the lower back and the knees. This can lead to muscular imbalances. This is also the reason we feel stiff when getting up after sitting for a while. Stretching and doing leg and glute exercises while in your chair can help prevent the strain and the stiffness that we feel. I am going to list below a few exercises you can perform while in your chair with a detailed explanation of each one. Give these all a try to keep those muscles nice and loose.

Abuse... or USE?!

Over a decade ago, I actually took the time to start a journal...One that helped me FOCUS my thoughts on more than the everyday things that usurp so much energy and time! In that journal, I used my favorite definition of "abuse:" Lack of use of either mind or body is ABUSE! My vision, both then and now, is to prevent that type of abuse in as many people as possible!

There is little joy, and very little embracing of life and living, when one "feels bad." Nothing else really matters except controlling that feeling! So, how does one gain this control?

REFOCUS! THINK through your life, and find a way through obstacles that are keeping you stagnant! If you can't go through, figure a way around, over, or under...JUST GET THERE!. Come back STRONGER! It's all about using what we already have as building blocks...not a completion but a basis. Make yourself into something better!
