Welcome to WARM weather
I did a Facebook post this week talking about how proud I am of all of out trainers. They really care, in a very personal way, about the clients. And we just keep growing. We are in the Springboro and Centerville Town Money Savers, on the Dayton Downtown Radio, will be at the Springboro Expo on March 19th, and are taking part in the Bid on Dayton program on our local iHeart radio stations. BAER Fit is involved with our local communities.
Read what others say about what we do.

There is more to come from BAER Fit in 2016. New programs, growth and partnering with charities. So stay tuned. Now enjoy this weather.

PLEASE, forward this to friends, like us on FaceBook, Pinterest, YouTube and Twitter.  You can also read our blog

Now enjoy your day and the newsletter.

It's NOT One Thing, It's LIFE!

I hear so many different ideas on what works to lose weight and be healthier. 99% of it all is garbage. The training industry tries to  teach diets that bodybuilders do, or some gluten free diet that some swear works to lose weight. The truth is NONE of it works for everybody! Some actually have problems losing weight, because they've done too many different diets. That can create a metabolic syndrome. Yo-Yo dieting does not work. It's suppose to be about you, the individual. Learning what you are eating, how much are you eating, are you doing those "cheat" days, are you being consistent.

It's About Nutrition...Learn, Eat, Love & Live
Instead of thinking "DIET", think about just cleaning up what you are eating. Don't stock your kitchen with processed trash. If you only buy real food...you will get healthier. So yes we challenge you. Not to diet or starve, but to not eat foods that are processed, produced in factories, or have a list of ingredients that you don't even know what they are. If you want to live well and enjoy your life, you first must care. Remember, we can not care more about you, than you care for yourself.

Linda shared this with me, and it is true.
"One of my favorite wellness guru's (Pete Egoscue) has a unique "legal disclaimer" at the beginning of his books. Put into very simple English, he requests that anyone who is not willing to take responsibility for their own well-being, their own health, should close his book, and "leave the pages unread. Health care starts with personal responsibility. Any disclaimer that suggests otherwise does a great disservice."

At BAER Fit we have had, since 2000, over 60 clients have lost 100 pounds or more in a year or less. Over 200 clients have lost 50 pounds or more in six months or less. And thousands have changed their body composition so they are no longer obese, and have gained strength and...

YOU are in charge!
IT IS ALL ABOUT CHOICES!

One of my favorite wellness guru's (Pete Egoscue) has a unique "legal disclaimer" at the beginning of his books. Epi- (above) genetics (think DNA...or picking your parents well)
SCIENTIFICALLY takes that responsibility one step further.   The science of epigenetics tells us we do not have to just accept "the hand that fate," or our combined parents' DNA, has dealt us. To quote John Cloud in his TIME article "At its most basic, epigenetics is the study of changes in gene activity that do not involve alterations to the genetic code but still get passed down to at least one successive generation. These patterns of gene expression are governed by the cellular material - the epigenome - that sits on top of the genome, just outside it (hence the prefix epi-, which means above). It is these epigenetic 'marks' that tell your genes to switch on or off, to SPEAK LOUDLY or whisper. It is through epigenetic marks that environmental factors like diet, stress and prenatal nutrition can make an imprint on genes that is passed from one generation to the next."

Hormonal response of an intense workout!

Many people today use their "Fit Bit" as a marker for their fitness, which is better than being a couch potato. Counting each step you take each day may help you become more active over a period of time, but keep in mind the intensity of your movements each day.

For most people, the primary focus is on how many calories are burned performing an exercise. The argument is that whatever pace gets you there, you burn the same amount of calories at the end. So going slow or fast doesn't matter, some may say; the key issue is just getting in the mile, or miles, and that is enough. There are a couple of other issues at play here, and they add up to a very different conclusion........................that intensity does matter.

Arthur Weltman, PhD, director of the exercise physiology graduate program at the University of Virginia said: "our research showed that in abdominally obese women with the metabolic syndrome, high-intensity exercise training was more effective than low/moderate intensity training for weight loss and reducing visceral fat." Based off his research, he believes that higher intensity exercise releases higher levels of growth hormone, which should promote fat oxidation during recovery.
