The Station BAER Listens To.
DowntownDaytonRadio is known for thier incredible assortment of music.  They even play local Dayton musicians.  Searching for those songs you never hear?  Look no further!  At DDR they don't just play anything; they play a little bit of everything!  Want to find out what's going on downtown?  They've got you covered.  Want to find out what bands are playing or what special events are planned?  They are your one stop source for information.

DDR is dedicated to the growth and prosperity of Downtown Dayton.  They support non-profit and civic organizations, the arts, including theater, artists, musicians, comedians, and more.  They love our local businesses, stores and restaurants.  DDR is definitely one of the jewels in the Gem City of Dayton.  In short, DDR is The Voice of the City!
They are an "internet only" station. So turn it on, and listen at work, stream to your SONIS system, or Wi-Fi it. You will love the eclectic collection of music. We have needed a station like this for yeas here in Dayton and surrounding area.

4 Ways to Exercise with your Dog, and Have Fun While Doing It! 
1. Walk. sounds easy enough, but most of us see walking the dog as a chore. Some dogs pull, dragging us every which way, (like my two bully heads) and others have their nose to the ground zig zagging every which way in front of us. ANNOYING. But this doesn't have to be! Let's be honest they need exercise as much as we do, and it's an amazing bonding experience. 
 
For a dog that pulls, there are a few tools to try. The Gentle Leader has done amazing things for my Monster dog. It's a small harness for the muzzle, often confused as a muzzle, although this allows your dog free range of motion with their jaw and is not a tool used for bite restriction. It controls the head giving you more control instead of the neck - the strongest part of a dog's body.

Superhero Donut Run
It's our first run of the year. April 16th in Centerville. The Superhero Donut 5K Run, sponsored by Bill's Donut Shop. We have a BAER Fit team, so if you join you'll also get a BAER Fit shirt designed just for this run, by Summer Swift. So click on the link and join us. What have you done for your heart lately?

What will you do for your Valentine this week? More than candy, flowers, and evening out, or even that special card: will you give the one you care about your undivided attention for just a few minutes? Will you share a little piece of yourself, be compassionate when it is needed, and forgive the little things that are not really important?
  
Who you love and who loves you can keep you happier and more empowered than the ability to run a marathon or bench press 300 pounds. Exactly how does the emotion of love, (or anger), affect the physical heart? Let's look at a little of the evidence.
  
An appreciative heart is good medicine
"Psychologists once maintained that emotions were purely mental expressions generated by the brain alone. We now know that this is not true - emotions have as much to do with the heart and body as they do with the brain. Of the bodily organs, the heart plays a particularly important role in our emotional experience. The experience of an emotion results from the brain, heart and body acting in concert."*

Struggles = Shambles

This is a letter from one of Marquinta's clients and friends, LaKeisha Grant.

Okay that may be a little dramatic but that's how these fitness struggles tend to make me feel, like my entire life is in shambles.

Disclaimer: These are MY struggles and I will not glorify them and make them pretty. I am going to give it to you straight, no chaser like my Hen. 

Below you will find my 3 major struggles.

Doing it for the gram...
This has to be my all-time largest struggle. Actually it's not mine, it is other people's struggle with my journey. I like taking pictures as much as the next person, maybe even more. What I do not understand is the need to post every workout or every meal for the world. I am not doing this for anyone else or the validation. I am doing this for me. As a spectator, I don't care! As a person living the lifestyle, I care even less
