The Superhero Donut
5K Run

It's our first run of the year. April 16th in Centerville. The Superhero Donut 5K Run, sponsored by Bill's Donut Shop. We have a BAER Fit team, so if you join you'll also get a BAER Fit shirt designed just for this run, by Summer Swift. So click on the link and join us. If you don't want to run, you can donate on our team page and you still get one of the shirts and you can come and have some Bill's donuts. There are none better!

Wish Kids Need Superheroes

The Dayton Chapter of A Special Wish Foundation has been granting wishes in the area for 32 years.  It all began with the first wish being granted by Bill's Donut Shop back in 1983.  Since then over 1,600 wishes have been granted to local children who have been diagnosed with a life-threatening disease or condition.  Continuing their 32-year partnership, ASW and Bill's Donut Shop have come together once again to raise money for some of the most vulnerable children in the Dayton region to receive their Special Wish.  Join the Baer Fit team by donning your favorite Superhero costume and run to help grant the special wishes of deserving Dayton area children.  Bring out the entire family for a fun morning and help Wish Kids escape from their treatment for a little while and just be a kid. 3 Dynamic Warm-up Exercises You Should Do before Every Workout

When you don't have the luxury of spending time in the gym for a workout cause of that meeting your need to get to, spending time on your warm-up doesn't always feel worth it. But consider how much sitting you do during the day: Sitting in your car, at your desk, on your couch. All that sitting restricts your ability to move well.

Failure

So what do you consider failure? Most would consider it an attempt to do something but not accomplishing it. Did you set a goal at the beginning of the year to get fit and eat healthy? Now ask yourself this, why did you fail? Was it because you did not know what you were really doing? Was it because you did not see immediate change? Did you get discouraged looking at others in the gym? We all fail at things in our lives. Failing is part of the learning process, especially when it comes to fitness. Do not get down on yourself because you failed; look at why you failed. I am here to tell you most people fail when it comes to fitness for two reasons.

The statistics are OUT for 2015... America is even MORE fat than they were last year! Marilyn Preston (the longest standing fitness column writer in this country) quotes one of our authorities (The Gallup-Healthways Well-Being Index) saying "27.7 percent of our population are unable or unwilling to eat smart portions of REAL food."

Melatonin helps cut fat.

Melatonin is a hormone produced by the pineal gland in the brain that promotes sleep. It is produced cyclically in response to darkness and light. Supplementing melatonin might support weight control - according to the results of a study of mice by Italian Researchers. Lean and obese mice were given melatonin or a placebo in their drinking water for 8 weeks.
