I know that this is a day late, but there were football games this weekend. One of them did not turn out as I wanted! Can you guess which?

Desk Job = POOR Health & Fitness

 

Having trouble staying fit and keeping the weight off while sitting behind your desk?  Well, the following program should help. It involves your office chair, desk and a water bottle or a dumb bell, that you can keep in your office. This will not replace your normal workout...but when you can't do normal, this will keep the blood flowing and your body toned.

 As I said, all the equipment you need is a chair, desk, water bottle or a medium weight dumbbell, and about 5 to 10 minutes every hour.

Hour 1:               
Wrist & Forearm: Extend arm in front, palm up and grab the fingers with the other hand. Gently pull the fingers towards you to stretch the forearm, holding for 20-30 seconds. Now turn same hand palm down. Again grab the fingers with the other hand and gently pull fingers towards you. Hold again for 20-30 seconds. Repeat this with the other arm.

Big news happening between thinkPT and BAER Fit. Dr. Chris Wilson, PT will begin increasing his presence at BAER Fit working alongside BAER Fit's trainers and clients. He will be happy to answer questions and you can book his time in increments of 15 minutes for $25.00. Try finding a better deal from any local healthcare provider! Dr. Wilson can screen running form, jump mechanics, simple musculoskeletal pain, provide education on exercises and rehab progressions, dry needling, instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization (or as his clients affectionately refer to it: "brass knuckles") and manual therapy including manipulations. In some cases, a more thorough evaluation may be needed requiring additional time, but often we can at least determine what you need in a 15-minute screen. Current and past clients / patients will definitely appreciate this new offer.

You really don't know how often I wanted one...
NOW it actually exists!
ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS!
 
 It's an ongoing joke among most of my female friends and clients...Guys would rather DIE than read the instructions that come with a product, let alone follow them! Well, let me tell you a little story on someone we all know and love (most of the time)!
  
A few weeks ago, ONE of my co-workers came down with WHATEVER was grounding so many of your friends: general congestion, aches and pains (but no fever). As he is so often telling us to do when we are not feeling well, HE WENT HOME! (Thank goodness! I wanted no part of whatever it was!) On the way home, he picked up not one, but two of today's modern miracle drugs at the corner drug store: (one for night and blessed sleep, and the other for daytime use!) Just a few extra hours of sleep, and the "miracle" pills, he should be back to work! HA! (His wife actually brought home the requisite chicken soup that cured all, and IT JUST WASN'T BETTER!)
