Happy New Year
We hope you all had a very merry Christmas. But now we look forward to the new year, a new start. This is when most of us feel we have a clean slate. We can start over. So choose wisely. Then make a plan, then follow it. No matter what you want, you do have to plan to do it, do it, and don't quit.

Continue in good health and like us, join us, follow us and what ever else there is.

Material things lost can be found. But there is one thing that can never be found when lost..." Life".

The New Year is only a Week Away!

So can you guess what the number one resolution is this year. "LOSE WEIGHT".
Yes once again we want to lose weight, because it's that magical first of the year. That has been the number one resolution for over ten years. And we still get fatter every year in this country.
WHY? Because we love fad diets, junk food, sitting on our asses. We want the quick fix. The pill. The surgery. Learning how to eat, how to exercise, how to be healthy is just no fun and too much work. So we are all going out to join a gym in January, jump on a treadmill and think we are going to fix the problem. Wrong. The problem I found is that we don't care about ourselves. The problem is in out heads, our attitudes. Change your attitude, change your life.
So instead of joining a gym, get a qualified trainer. You could join us, where everyone is degreed, certified in training and nutrition. We are not a gym, but a training center where our number one priority is your health, not your membership fees as in a gym. But if not us, find a qualified trainer to help you get in the best shape of your life. Then you can go join a gym, because you'll know what you are doing. So good luck and Happy New Year and don't quit!

FEAR

What is fear? Where does fear come from? I am here to tell you fear does not exist. Fear is something we make up in our mind to defeat ourselves before we even get started. Fear is not a physical object, it is not a person, and it is not a sound. It is truly something we make-up ourselves in our own minds. When we let doubt enter our mind, then we fear what might happen...we fear that we will fail.

If you want to skydive but you are afraid what could happen if something goes wrong, you have created your fear.   If competing in a 5k race is a goal, but you're afraid you won't complete the race, then you have defeated yourself by creating your own fear. If losing 20 lbs. is your goal, but you are afraid of the sacrifices it will take to do it, then you have let fear defeat you before you even started.   Why let self created fear keep us from doing what we want?

Getting past your weight-loss plateau:

During the first few weeks of losing weight, a rapid drop is normal. In part, this is because when you cut calories, the body gets needed energy initially by releasing its stores of glycogen, a type of carbohydrate found in the muscles and liver. Glycogen is partly made of water, so when glycogen is burned for energy, it releases water, resulting in weight loss that's mostly water. This effect is temporary, however.

As you lose weight, you lose some muscle along with fat. Muscle helps keep the rate at which you burn calories (metabolism) up. So as you lose weight, your metabolism declines, causing you to burn fewer calories than you did at your heavier weight.

Your slower metabolism will slow your weight loss, even if you eat the same number of calories that helped you lose weight. When the calories you burn equal the calories you eat, you reach a plateau.

To lose more weight, you need to either increase your physical activity or decrease the calories you eat. Using the same approach that worked initially may maintain your weight loss, but it won't lead to more weight loss.
