Christmas is Here
My favorite time of the year. Yes I love the Christmas music, all the decorations and lights, and even the Christmas movies on the Hallmark channel. But of course my favorite Christmas movie is "Christmas Vacation"! Oh ya. Poor Kimberley has to watch it a couple of times every December. The best thing about this month, this week, the day, is the celebration of the birth of Jesus, our savior. What He did for us. So we should try to help others at this time. To love, forgive, fellowship. I know you've all heard it before. It's not about the gifts. We already have enough STUFF. What do I like at Christmas. That beautiful smile on Kimberley's face. Her hugs everyday. The fact that she does Christmas with her heart and faith.  Of course I love the food, the cooking, the family around the table. Now everyone...stop, take a deep breath and feel all the goodness and love around us. Your goal, feel that all year long.

Imagination

 
What separates us from every other species on this planet?  The ability to IMAGINE!  We can imagine a healthy, rich, successful, and bright future.  A career we have always wanted or that special house that can only be seen in our imagination.
 
So what does imagination have to do with fitness?  When you set a goal to be fit that is all you do, strive to be "fit".  Unfortunately, if we only set "being fit" as a goal we usually fail.  Why do we fail?  Because "being fit" does not project an image of what you will look and feel like.  So I want you to IMAGINE yourself being fit.  I want you to imagine what you will look like.  Will you develop ripping muscles, will you get those curves in the right places, will you drop all those curves in the wrong places?  Now imagine what you will do once you are fit. Will you run your first marathon, will you finally wear that bikini to the pool again, will you finally take a picture without secretly trying to cover your stomach?

Macronutrients, putting it all together.
 
 
Macro's aka Macronutrients are an essential nutrient required in relatively large amounts such as carbohydrates, proteins, fats, or water and sometimes certain minerals are included such as sodium, potassium, calcium, or chloride. In keeping with the theme of a non-scientific explanation I am going to focus on the three main macronutrients as seen at the beginning of you Baer Fit nutrition plan or in your My Fitness Pal app.
 
Our body basically recognizes foods in one of three categories:
  • Carbohydrates which contain 4 calories per gram.
  • Proteins which contain 4 calories per gram.
  • Fats which contain 9 calories per gram.
