Another Thanksgiving is done. Now it's the rush to Christmas and New Years. WOW! Where does time go. You know that, "I'll start Monday." isn't working. The Secrets to Weight Control After the Holidays or Dieting

Weight Control: Why Is It So Hard?

Start thinking of weight control as the next, lifelong phase of dieting. Here are the guidelines you want to practice every day:

Exercise is critical for weight control. Exercise is a very important way to keep the weight off. Studies show that people who have dieted and successfully maintained their ideal weight exercise around five hours a week. To maintain a weight loss, I recommend people exercise 60 minutes a day on most days of the week and make three of them strength training. You can split your exercise sessions into segments, for example doing two 30-minute workouts on a day that you've planned an hour of exercise. In fact, this can have a better effect on your muscle metabolism. 

Write it down. We recommend writing down what you're eating. You can tell for yourself whether you're doing well or need to pay more attention. Measure the food you are eating. You can't lose if you don't know where you're at.

It is open to all clients, family, friends and whoever reads this. All you need to bring is a smile and a little joy.

owner of Crabshire Tavern on 725 in beautiful downtown Centerville.  

Yes this is my Friday afternoon stop on my way home, as many of you know. Michelle will be serving the wine and funny conversation. There will also be much food to enjoy.

The Quick Start on Carbohydrates!

Carbohydrates are one of the three macro nutrients and is the main source for energy used by our brain and body for functions like breathing, digestion, heartbeat, and activity! That is why we affectionately refer to leg day as a great day, you need to get a few more carbs in you the night before, like PIZZA! In moderation!!!!!

It's that time of year...
 
Moms are the BEST at many things, and sometimes the WORST when it comes to temptation!

PLEASE let me explain myself! I always knew I had a "fight-on-my-hands" (is that one of those Southern expressions I have to explain?) on ANY holiday or weekend visit to my parents! Mom knew which dishes (especially desserts) were my favorites, and would always have them ready for us. She was a fantastic cook, and made the BEST German chocolate cake (or mini pecan pies, or carrot cake) on the planet...at least according to her daughter (ME)!
