Can You Do Tricks, Balance Tricks That Is!

So how is your balance? You know that saying, "Help I've fallen and can't get up." Yes it can happen to you. You will not always be 20, 30, 40 years old. And as you are gaining weight, it just gets harder to get up.

Good balance will help prevent a potentially disabling fall. First you can start by practicing at home. Stand on one foot for 60 seconds, then switch feet. Repeat several time, and do it every day. Try sitting in a chair and then standing up without using your arms. Carefully, walk up and down stairs without holding the rail. Walk straight lines forward, then backwards.

In one research program, over 300 people, over 60, participated in several groups. One that were taught strength training and yoga exercises, another the traditional "be careful your old" gentle exercise program, and the other group left on their own.

At the end of a year, the strength/yoga trained group had 31% fewer falls than the other groups. Lesson...if you want or need better balance, train your muscles. That's what keeps you upright and moving.

ACCEPTANCE OF YOURSELF

Accept each day exactly as it comes to you. By that, I mean not only the circumstances of your day but also the condition of your body. Your assignment is to trust me absolutely; I will never lead you on a wrong path of healthy mind and body.

On some days, your circumstances and your physical condition feel out of balance: The demands on you seem far greater than your strength. Days like that present a choice between two alternatives, giving up or relying on the fact that I've been at this for a very long time. I will never lead you down the wrong path. You can turn to me at any point, and I will help you crawl out of the mire of discouragement the best I can.

When you feel out of balance you are! You are what you think you are. This is an absolute when it comes to the female population.

We have learned from an early age to look at ourselves in a negative light. It is time we stand up for strength and well-being!

Your assignment for this week is to find something nice to say about yourself in the mirror every day morning and/or night. You're not allowed to say anything negative about yourself in front of yourself, your children and/or your mate.

Positive thoughts create a positive mind and in turn you'll feel positive about yourself and others will notice.

Try it; you'll like what you turn into.

WHO'S LOOKING OUT FOR YOU!

Ladies Self Defense Training

I want to take a moment and talk about something as a father to 3 girls I take very seriously...ladies self-defense.  I spent 17 years as a Police Officer taking numerous calls of women assaulted by not only family members, but also complete strangers.  Sometimes they just wanted their purse, sometimes they wanted much more.

So what can you do to protect yourself or your loved one?  Enrolling in my ladies self-defense program is one great way!  What will you get out of my program?  You will learn how to lessen your vulnerability and you will learn strategies to handle various attacks.  I teach simple effective fight and escape techniques that do not require hours upon hours of practice for the rest of your life.

Five Reasons to take my class:
  1. Crime can happen to anyone at any time. Be ready to deal with it if it happens to you.

  2. You will gain self-confidence that you can protect yourself.

  3. This is cheap life-insurance that will truly last a lifetime!

  4. Do this so that if you're attacked you can defend yourself and see your loved ones again.

  5. You are learning from a retired Police Sergeant who spent countless hours speaking with victims, watching video of attacks, and interviewing suspects learning how they choose their prey.
I offer one on one training or small group training.  Training consist of preparing your mind and body for an attack.  You will be taught how to use your head, body, and voice to protect yourself.  Do not let yourself become the prey for wolves of society.

So who can benefit from this training?  Well, any lady who wants to protect herself if she finds herself in a bad position.  Get the tools you need to survive!

Give me a call or email and let's set up a free consultation today.

Which SIGNS can you afford to IGNORE?

Most of you who know me and/or regularly visit our Baer Fit Training Center know my little "baby" car (a 2003 Mini Cooper S). Hey, it isn't NEW, but it's paid for, and it can at least SOUND like a sports car!

Well... for the last few weeks, this little baby has been making some really weird noises, especially as I am driving through the neighborhood between my house and the studio...It actually sounded to me as if liquid was flowing through the underside of the car?! I checked all the possible places that a leak would show-NOTHING. I heard the noise whether it was full of gas, or almost running on fumes. This seemed to confirm it was not a fluid thing, so what was it? My baby was not pulling to one side or the other, and she was stopping when I needed it to...BUT, the stopping was when it made the most noise!

Meanwhile, I KNOW THINGS DON'T JUST FIX THEMSELVES! I learned years ago NEVER to ignore sounds (or visual signs) that something is not right! I called my master mechanic, and prayed for a diagnosis. He looked at her today, and the diagnosis is "metal against metal" (brakes) over the driver-side rear tire! I promise you, the sound was not metal-against-metal! But I am soOOO happy, he is working on it RIGHT NOW! I really do not like letting my car go until it stops on me, (or in this case, DOES NOT STOP for me). I need it to be functional, AND SAFE!

Why the long description of a car making strange noises? Would any of you have ignored the problem if it was YOUR wheels? NO! So, this question is for each and every one of you:
