WOW! Where Does the Time Go?

It's been 28 years since we established BAER Fit (fitness back then) and I remember so many trainers and clients over those years. We've had so many trainers that  have started with us and gone on to their own greatness. Natalie, who was a friend and like a daughter and still trains at her own center. Robin who started with us, and became a great friend, now has her own training center and is doing marvelous. And every time we rebuild our trainer staff, we get even better. The trainers that are with us now really are the best team we've ever had. They know the trade and they understand the business. But most of all, they love helping others have healthier lives. KimbeleyG and I wish we could keep them forever, but life and the world always moves on.
The BAER Fit Dream Team

Of course there are the thousands of clients that we have had the pleasure to work with. One of the early ones I think of is Rick. He became a workout.............
We will be having cooking classes, grocery store group trips and nutrition coaching classes starting in September. Stay tuned!

28 years of BAER Fit! This September marks 28 years that we have been working with and helping people achieve their weight, health and fitness goals, one person at a time. The bear in the upper left was our first bear. In the upper right corner, our bear today. He has changed and grown, just like we have. But we still give the best personal service. We have to thank Summer Swift for all the great graphics you created for us over the years.
When you are ready to change where you are at to where you could be, call us. We will be here another 28 years

EACH MORNING

How did you sleep last night? If you are anything like me not all that restful. The alarm goes off and you just want to roll over and go back to sleep!

Are you sleep deprived? Or do you muster the will to sit up in bed, put your feet on the floor and stand up? Do you race for the coffee or tea? Or do you take your meds with water first? What is your morning ritual? I'd really like to know to know the answer if you are willing to share with me.

Our brains and bodies have been asleep for hours, and shifting from sleep to wake isn't easy. A busy day lies ahead for you and you struggle to get a grip on your immediately racing thoughts upon awakening. Whew!

Let's Go Ride a Bike

The nice weather will soon be at an end here in Ohio ( L My face right now), but we still have time to sneak some outdoor workouts in. So, let's not waste that time. With all the bike safe roads made available to us here in Cincinnati we should jump on the bicycle bandwagon and hit the pavement. And if you don't believe a ride on the bike is a good workout, I'm here to tell you that you are wrong. "A 135-pound woman pedaling 12 to 14 miles an hour blasts 488 calories in 60 minutes" according to Women's Health. Now that is a great calorie burn. And feeling the wind in your face and soaking up some vitamin D are bonuses.

So, if that isn't reason enough to take the bike for a spin let me list some more for you....

At a desk all day? Living in a dorm room? Ways to eat clean.

When you are obligated to remain in small quarters throughout each day, one may begin to wonder how to maintain a healthy lifestyle. It is obvious these restrictions limit your food choices, but here are a few helpful tips.

Pack lunches; if a refrigerator is not accessible, use lunch boxes that with freezer packs. (The brand "pack it" is awesome. They can be purchased on Amazon and Target for around $20.)  If eating out is a must, try buffet style restaurants or café's. This will allow you to make the best decisions on food choice and portion size. Try very hard not to let yourself become famished, this will help you not make hasty food decisions for a quick fix.

INFLAMMATION: It hurts to move...HURTS even more if you don't!

When I was very little (YES, there was a time), I was VERY confused by my dad when I hurt myself. I would have skinned my knee(s) and be crying! Maybe I had fallen out of a tree; jumped too far from the swing set; thought I could FLY!

He seemed really upset with meI You might even say ANGRY with me!

NOW I think I understand. He wasn't upset with me, but with the fact that he couldn't always keep me from hurting myself.

You see, I have an ongoing battle with several of my clients...They're STUBBORN! They are ALWAYS determined to finish whatever project they have started.   They just keep going for much too long, holding their body in stressed positions, for far too many hours. They JUST WILL NOT GIVE UP...or maybe ask for help, or be patient enough to wait for that help, when they really need it! (I guess that's why I understand them?)
