Yes, I let her handle a knife!

It's another beautiful weekend. This week you'll find I kind of don't understand why people put such a low value on their health and life. Yes I got on my soap box! But for all of us here, your weight, health, fitness and life are very important. When we talk with our clients, we hear about how they are stronger, have more energy, lost weight, sleep better, get off of meds, and in general just feel better in everything they do. And when you are capable of more...you do more in every aspect of your life.

Be sure to forward this to friends, like us on FaceBook, and sign up for our newsletter mailing list. You can also read our blog

Now enjoy your day and the newsletter.

WHAT'S IT COST?

I just got a phone call from a gentleman asking what it costs. My answer, "The best thing to do is come in, take a tour, and let's talk about your needs and goals. And about what we can do for you." His answer, "Ok thanks." And he hung up. So I guess he'll find the cheapest doctors for himself or kids. But has the best in cable and internet. Oh ya, the newest cell phone. I don't understand peoples values anymore.

No we are not expensive. We haven't changed our prices for nearly 10 years. But I love how people put an even lower value on their lives. We are NOT your typical trainers. We are NOT a gym. We are professionals who work with doctors, hospitals and corporations to provide the clients with weight loss, strength gains, healthy life habits, reduced stress, proper nutrition...well just about anything you need to have a healthier life.

Our trainers have degrees and certifications. And their first priority is your success. A life that is healthy, active and that you can manage on your own. We've had clients that have lost over 100 pounds in less than a year. Clients that were able to get off their meds, with their doctors orders. Another client who was having blood pressure issues, and at the urging of her BAER Fit trainer, saw her doctor and a blockage was found, and a stint was put in. We have also helped over 35 people win awards in different classes of bodybuilding. Our clients range in ages of 10 to 87 right now.

So next time you want better health. To lose weight. To become an athlete. Or just want a better quality of life and be able to play with your kids as they grow, call us and start your journey.

PS...Sorry for going on a rant. But we really do care about you here. This just isn't our job, it's our desire to help others.

By the way... we do have a BACK TO SCHOOL special going on right now till August 15th. Just follow this link:

WHAT YOU DON'T WANT TO HEAR AND WHAT NOBODY WANTS TO SAY TO YOU:

"Why do I struggle to succeed?"

"I QUIT!"

Perseverance is extremely tough, especially when you want results NOW! When the scale doesn't instantly budge, you throw in the towel and say "I quit". It took a lot of "playing" to get your body where it is today, so it's going to take a lot of "paying" to make up for it.

"SCAREDY CAT"

The fear of failure is a big enough deterrent to prevent our own success. If you haven't seen results you like in a while, then change is the only route left. This includes changing your thoughts and mind as well as you actions.

"I'LL START MY DIET TOMORROW"

Procrastination is NASTY habit!

"BUT I WANT THAT COOKIE"

Instant gratification feels so good we want to do it again and again, but if the feeling leaves you bummed, lifestyle changes need to be made. Will power will need to be your next best friend.

"NO BIG DEAL, I'LL GET THE WEIGHT OFF"

Having too much self-confidence can be just as bad as not having enough.  This trait can lead to procrastination. Make sure your attitude says: "I want to succeed"!!!

 Just Leave Me Alone!

No Not You...THEM!

Finally!  This crazy ankle of mine is actually

getting better!  No, NOT COMPLETELY BETTER,

but MUCH better just because it allows me to

sleep at night...

MAYBE HE/SHE ACTUALLY LISTENED, and had a

little pity!

Interesting scene my last two visits to the wound healing specialist:

They cut the compression wrap from myleg and ankle to reveal...YUK!..VERY WRINKLED

COMPRESSED SKIN!  Well, of course it was!?

What did I expect after being compressed and

wrapped for a week?

Then the medical professionals carefully washed and disinfected the area...OW  again that really stung...like cleaning any open cut

NOW THE FUN PART:  There is a procedure called "debridement" which involves remove of a small amount of necrotic tissue using, in my case, a small curette...Think digging into an open would!  OW!  This is supposed to speed the healing, but hurts.

Sunday I was feeling so much better I tried for a normal morning for me:

Walked the dogs for an hour, Sprayed the roses

and other bushes w/anti-fungal.  Went to our

side yards and worked on this crazy weed trying to take over. Did normal laundry stuff for

weekends Went grocery shopping...YOU GET THE IDEA!  I felt so much better I REALLY overdid!

Getting a Routine Back

Last week I wrote an article for the newsletter geared toward us mothers who are admittedly anticipating the start of the school year. (It's ok, we all feel that way to some degree) I talked about regaining focus as our schedules free up with the kids being gone all day. I myself have missed many workouts due to illness, scheduling conflicts, illness again and so on. So this week I thought of writing some tips to get us back in the swing of things.

If you have been MIA for a while from the gym I would advise you to work yourself back in slowly. If you jump in full throttle you run the risk of injuring yourself, burning out too quick and overworking muscles. Set small goals for your first week or two back at the gym. Try to get in at least three days and don't try to lift what you were lifting before the summer, kids, or whatever threw a loop in your routine. Don't let that discourage you either if you find yourself lifting less. Understand that minor setbacks happen to everyone and if you stay consistent now you will be back where you were in no time at.
