Green Tip For The Week

Just bag it!  Help protect the environment when you shop.  Keep reusable bags on your car seat or near your door so they are easy to grab when you go.  And you can even combine shopping bags - just tell the cashier that you don't need a bag, then put all your purchases together in one bag just be sure to hang on to your receipts! Come Make Some Noise on the High Holidays!
Shofar 2 Calling All Shofar Blowers!
Have you blown shofar during the High Holidays in past years at Barnert?  Would you like to try blowing shofar this year for the first time?  If you answered "yes" to either question, we'd love for you to join our team of shofar blowers.  We will offer a session to teach you how to blow the shofar and learn about its importance.  E-mail Rabbi Steiner at rabbisteiner@barnerttemple.org to let her know you are interested and she will be in touch when the dates for the sessions are set!

Do you have a child going away to school?
Barnert would love to stay connected! Just provide us with your student's name and address, and we will periodically send messages from Rabbi Frishman, Rabbi Steiner and Sara Losch, as well as care packages with holiday greetings and upbeat messages! Please E-mail your child's name, E-mail address, as well as his/her complete mailing address to Rikki Lowy at lowyland@msn.com.
A few important details:

  • This list is created from scratch each year. There are so many changes with our college students from year to year, so even if your child was on the list last year and nothing has changed, please send in their information!
  • If your child is studying away for a semester, please be sure to tell us which semester they will be away. Also, please indicate what year of study your student is in.
Please get us your child's contact information ASAP so they don't miss out on any of the holiday greetings and/or packages!!!
