In this political year, let's discuss how to get along with people we disagree with strongly. Haidt's important work applies biology and psychology towards understanding the development of morality, and the shaping of groups and communities.
Please acquire Haidt's book as reading preparation must be done in advance of each session.

Shabbat Service and Potluck Supper

| |  Join us for our Shabbat service, followed by our Potluck Supper. If your last name begins with A-K, bring a salad or side dish; L-Z, bring a main dish. Please plan on bringing enough to serve 8 to 10 people. Food should be "kosher style," that is, no pork or shellfish and no mixing of meat and dairy in the same dish. Have you listened to our amazing High Holiday Torah readers and wondered how
you could be part of the group that brings Torah to the whole congregation? Have you wondered how everyone prepares to do this? It's as easy as sending one E-mail to Rabbi Steiner at rabbisteiner@barnerttemple.org. As long as you can read Hebrew, Rabbi Steiner will get you the materials you need to prepare and work with you until you are ready to chant or read Torah during Rosh Hashanah or Yom Kippur services. It's fun; the music is easy to learn; you'll be fully engaged in our High Holiday services, and you'll join a very special group at Barnert Temple! The Barnert Basketball Group is accepting new players for their 22nd season, beginning in September. Fee is $230 for the entire year, from September through June.
