Summer Volunteers Needed for Family Promise Day Shelter
Family Promise is the only Bergen County program that assists working families (with children) who are temporarily facing homelessness.
Find out how you can support them with just a few hours of your time. Contact Temple Member Donna Meyer at meymail121@gmail.com to get on the monthly E-mail list. No commitment needed. You will receive a call for volunteers and if you are available you sign up for one 3 hour shift - one time only.
We all have known seniors who can't or shouldn't be driving anymore.
If you can spare just one hour a month, please consider volunteering to drive one short trip for a senior or blind person through iTNNorthJersey. Please contact Jeff Wild at jwild@lowenstein.com or Sandy Cohen or sandy.cohen1@verizon.net, for more information about this life-saving organization with which Barnert is partnering!
Blood Drive Success!
Thanks to everyone who came out and made Barnert's blood drive a success!
Barnert donated 29 pints of blood - enough to save as many as 87 lives!!

Social Action Drives
We are Always Collecting Food:
Local food pantries are struggling to meet demand. We're always collecting food in the Atrium for the Center for Food Action in Mahwah. Please click here to see which items are most urgently needed now: Most Needed Items at CFA.
Winter Coats and Jackets: We are still collecting for children and adults. Please donate new or gently used coats and jackets today! They will be donated to the Paterson community through CUMAC (Center of United Methodist Aid), a 2009 Mitzvah Mall Charity.
New Toiletries, Cosmetic Bags, Toiletry Bags: Center for Hope and Safety (formerly Shelter Our Sisters, a 2002 Mitzvah Mall Charity) still need items. Full sizes or the small bottles of shampoo, conditioner, lotion and bars of soap from hotels are great! New cosmetic bags and toiletry bags are needed as well!
Please drop off your contributions in the baskets in the Atrium.

Share Memories and Materials So Others May Benefit From Our Experience
Team Tzedek is collecting all photos, memories, agendas and handouts from past Mitzvah Malls to use for a Power Point we will be creating to share with Temples and other organizations that would like to create similar programs. If you have anything you would like to share, please send it to Mitzvah Mall Archivist Florette Lynn at faygel@optonline.net.
