Shabbat Evening Service and Potluck Supper
Friday, August 7, at 7 pm | |  Our Shabbat Summer Services are held outdoors. Join us for a more relaxed summer worship experience with your Barnert Temple Community followed by a delicious Shabbat Potluck Supper. If your last name begins with A-K, bring a salad or a side dish; L-Z, bring a main dish. Please plan on bringing enough to serve 8 to 10 people. Food should be "kosher style," that is, no pork or shellfish and no mixing of meat and dairy in the same dish. Sisterhood will provide the desserts! If weather is inclement, Shabbat Service will be held in the Social Hall.

Join Rabbi Frishman on a
Civil Rights Journey for Justice
August 24 - 26, Spartanburg, South Carolina

March to elevate the freedoms and rights of black Americans. Let's counter the violence and arrogance of racism, criminal justice, challenged voting rights...
Organized by the NAACP, our Reform movement has joined this Journey for Justice fully.
Our Jewish contingent will carry a Torah, led by rabbis and accompanied by teens and adults. Each day, from August 1 until September 13, a new group will march 20 miles, sleeping in local churches or Islamic Centers. Each morning, a new group will pick up where the other left off.
We will meet in Spartanburg on August 24, march on August 25 and return home August 26. For more information, please contact Helen at helenm1847@barnerttemple.org.
