Green Tip for the Week

Transparent logic - Glass bottles are among the easiest items to recycle.  For every one ton of glass we recycle we save 36 gallons of oil. Recycling glass also cuts energy use - recycling just one bottle saves enough energy to power a television for 90 minutes.

A Special Invitation for the Barnert Community!
Rabbi Kinneret Shiryon Joins Us Thursday Night
Rabbi Kinneret Shiryon from our sister congregation YOZMA in Israel is joining us this week - and you are invited!

Rabbi Shiryon was scheduled to speak here on Shabbat, but that has changed.
Instead, Rabbi Frishman and Rabbi Freelander are hosting a fundraising dinner for YOZMA this Thursday at 7 pm at their home.

Non-orthodox Israeli synagogues must be supported heavily from abroad.  Unlike us, Israelis are accustomed to the State paying for their religious buildings and rabbis; as the state only supports Orthodox synagogues, Reform synagogues have the extra burden of funding themselves almost entirely.

They invite you to join them for an evening of meaningful conversation, including, of course, Rabbi Shiryon's reaction as an Israeli leader to the just-announced US agreement with Iran.

Please be willing to offer a significant contribution to support YOZMA.

RSVP to helenm1847@barnerttemple.org by Wednesday (July 14) afternoon.

If you're unable to attend, but would like to offer a contribution to support YOZMA, the check should be made out to WUPJ (World Union for Progressive Judaism).  They process it and this allows for the donation to be tax-deductible in the United States.

Please earmark your donation for YOZMA and send it to:  Rabbi Dan Freelander
