Green Tip for the Week

Choose a Gas Model

When buying a stove, choose a gas model if possible.  Gas is more efficient than electricity, its operating costs should be about half those of a similar electric model.  If gas isn't an option, choose an electric cooker with halogen and induction elements on the stovetop, which are more efficient than solid disks and radiant elements.

Shabbat Candles
Our Shabbat Summer Services are held outdoors.  If weather is inclement, Shabbat Service will be held in the Social Hall.   Join us for a more relaxed summer worship experience with your Barnert Temple Community followed by a delicious Shabbat Potluck Dinner.

If your last name begins with A-K, bring a main dish; L-Z, bring a salad or side dish.  Please plan on bringing enough to serve 8 to 10 people.  Food should be "kosher style," that is, no pork or shellfish and no mixing of meat and dairy in the same dish.  Women of Barnert will provide the desserts!

RSVP to Natalie Cohen at ncohen1847@barnerttemple.org.
