Green Tip for the Week

Minimal Lighting

Make sure that any outdoor lights around your home point downward, so they shine light only where it's really needed.  Replace halogen lights with low-power compact fluorescent bulbs and switch them on only when they're required.

Friday, June 5, at 7 pm
Shabbat Candles Join us for our Shabbat service, followed by our Potluck Supper.  If your last name begins with A-K, bring a salad or side dish; L-Z, bring a main dish.  Please plan on bringing enough to serve 8 to 10 people.  Food should be "kosher style," that is, no pork or shellfish and no mixing of meat and dairy in the same dish.  RSVP to Natalie Cohen at ncohen1847@barnerttemple.org.

On June 5, the Barnert community celebrates our high school and college graduates and honors Melissa and Zach Kolstein for their years of service as Youth Directors.   

On June 12 - BIG SURPRISE - we are honoring Zackery Griffin for his 20 years of service - don't tell him!

Enjoy a family-friendly cycling event supporting JFS in its efforts to help feed the hungry in Bergen County.

Your participation is what will make the difference in many people's lives.  This multi-distance, family-friendly cycling and walking event welcomes participants at every level. Bring your non-riding friends and family members for a casual walk. $1,000 Jewish College Scholarship Fund

The Sara and Max Goldsammler Scholarship Fund is open to any current or collegiate bound Jewish student.

Students fill out a simple application and write a short essay in order to apply.  Three scholarships are being awarded; $1,000, $500 and $300, based on their essay. The application can be found at saramaxfund.com.  The deadline for applications is August 2.
