Green Tip for the Week

Rag Trade

Just because some of your oldest clothes are too worn out to be useful to anyone in their current incarnation, they shouldn't be discarded.  Some charities are becoming adept at fashioning new items out of the best parts of unwanted old garments.  They can even be shredded and rewoven into new items, via a charity-run textile-recycling program.

Join with your Barnert Community and Religious School in this solemn observance of the attempted destruction of European Jewry.
Yom HaShoah, Holocaust Remembrance Day, is the observance of the attempted destruction from 1933-1945 of European Jewry and the murder of 6,000,000 European Jews.
The Jewish People live, and we gather to mourn those lost and pledge a vibrant Jewish future.
Rabbi Elyse Frishman and Rabbi Dan Freelander
Invite You to the Aufruf of their son, Adam
Friday, April 17 during Shabbat Service
Bride and Groom
Come to the Aufruf during
Shabbat Services  at 8 pm.
Rabbis Elyse Frishman and Dan Freelander would be honored if you would join us this Friday evening for Shabbat Services at 8 pm as we celebrate the upcoming wedding of their son Adam Freelander to Julie Stein.  Traditionally, the bride and groom are invited to offer the Torah blessing.  The couple is blessed, and then the community of friends tosses sweet candies at them.  And the Oneg will be delicious!

What is happening with the rights of women and opportunities for egalitarian worship in Israel?
Women of the Wall has been working for over 25 years to provide social and legal recognition of women's rights to wear a prayer shawl, pray, and read from the Torah collectively and out loud at the Western Wall.
Join your Barnert Community to hear from an Israeli Leader about what is happening and how we can move forward.
