Unexpected Moments in Life are Often the Most Rewarding
"Although I had been on the board of Our Kids for many years, the thought of becoming a foster parent had never occurred to me - until we had the chance to foster Elizabeth. People tell us that Elizabeth is lucky to be with us, but we feel even more fortunate to have her. Since welcoming Elizabeth a year ago, she has touched our lives in an endearing and impactful way. Life certainly has its twists and turns; this one was a turn for the better, primarily for us!"   ~Carlos de la Cruz, Jr.

Horsing Around
From Cecily Wernick:  REPLY
My 13-year-old daughter would like to take horseback riding lessons. We tried Ascot Farm in Miami, but would like to explore other options. Is there a place you recommend? We want a stable that strives for safety and excellence and is also a pleasant learning environment. We are willing to travel up to an hour from Coral Gables for lessons. Thanks for your suggestions!

Don't Miss Out on Your "Grown-Up" Time!
From Sharon Radell:  REPLY
My A-list roster of screened nannies and sitters are here to help with newborns, toddlers, school-aged kids and children with special needs.  Whether it is a "standing" Saturday night sitter, a girl's night out, a special event or back-up care for your own nanny, we've got you covered. As a working mother of two children, I know the challenge of finding quality childcare. I founded TLC so that families could have access to professionally screened caregivers. I personally interview and screen nannies so that you have people you can trust and count on - even on short notice.  Click HERE for more information.*

Golden Retriever Mix Found Near Brickell

Unfortunately, I will have to take him to a shelter if I am unable to find his owner.

Ready to Retire
From Esther Reyes:  REPLY
After 40+ years of owning his own business, my father is serious about retiring, or at least scaling back significantly. I'm trying to get him to face the daunting task of clearing out his warehouse, but I'm having to overcome a few obstacles. One is helping him realize that this has to happen - he's 83 years old and hasn't quite accepted retirement! The other, and this is where I need your help, is knowing how/where/what to do with all the stuff in this warehouse. Most of it is tires, wheels, and auto service machinery that is 15+ years old. A lot will need to go to garbage or recycling, but there are a few gems that I am sure we can sell, I'm just not sure how and/or to whom. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks for your insight.
