Special Needs Sibling Support Group- May 7
The relationship that all siblings share is one of the longest and literally lasts a lifetime. Siblings who have brothers or sisters with special needs can face additional challenges and often grow up in a situation of considerable stress, without the cognitive and emotional maturity to understand the mix of feelings they experience. Support for siblings allows them to feel less isolated and helps them build resilience.
Group led by Kim Stewart.

Siblings with brothers & sisters of all special needs are welcome

Social Skill Programs- Elementary, Middle School, High School

Social skills classes for children with high functioning Autism/Aspergers. Classes and lessons are structured for students who can participate in a group setting independently without one on one assistance.

Social skills instruction focuses specifically on helping children understand their own and others emotions, developing improved skills to communicate their feelings and recognize others feelings, knowing how to start and maintain interactions appropriately and understanding other people's perspectives.

Children who attend the social skills classes find new ways to communicate and express themselves, learn to better understand basic communication rules, better interpret social cues, and learn improved ways to interact with their peers, family and community.
