In January-March of 2016, total trade in the NAFTA Region recorded a value of US$237.5 billion, representing a decrease of 6.5% compared to the previous year's same period.

 


 

In the monthly report of cargo and passenger ships, the agency reported * Within the North American block, Mexico's trade, along with its partner ountries, went from 30.7% of the region's total in January-March of 1993 to 50.6% in the same period of 2016, reflecting the importance of Mexico as a trading partner of Canada and the United States...

The commodity traffic made by many transports modes such as ship, truck and rail, say a stagnation in the first quarter 2016, mainly due to the exchange rate and slow economic growth.

 

 

The exchange rate reduced the dynamism coming reporting in recent years, as well as low economic growth, said Fernando Ramos, president of the Mexican Association of Intermodal Transport...

Mexico's aerospace industry will soon be placed among the top 10 suppliers in the world, Vladimiro de la Mora, CEO of General Electric Infrastructure Queretaro (GEIQ), the engineering center largest outside the United States aviation said.

  

The CEO said that Mexico already has presence of major companies in the sector as Bombardier, Eurocopter, Safran Group and General Electric...

  

 

Rafael Pacchiano, Secretary of Environment and Natural Resources (Semarnat) presented the Emergent Standard Vehicle Verification which comes into force next July 1 and will apply only for six months in the states that make up the Megalopolis (Mexico City, Mexico State , Morelos, Puebla, Tlaxcala, and Hidalgo)


 

According to the official, if it's necessary, there will be an extension for another six months and could even apply in all states that have a verification program...

Did you know? Mexico's largest bird is the American White Pelican

    

Two distinct kinds of pelican thrive in Mexico. Excluding exotic species held captive in zoos, the American White Pelican is North America's largest flying bird. It grows to about 1.58 meters (5 feet 2 inches) in length, weighing up to 11 kilos (25 pounds), with a wingspan of up to 2.74 meters (9 feet). Its close relative, the Brown Pelican, reaches 1.22 meters (4 feet) in length, with a wingspan of 2.13 meters (7 feet).
