Mexican authorities recover radioactive load stolen from truck

 

Load of iridium 192 found abandoned on a street a few miles from where truck was stolen in the industrial Mexico City suburb. Mexican authorities found a load of dangerous

radioactive material that was in a stolen pickup, a top civil protection official said on Friday...
 

 

 

The new hub is due to replace the overstretched Benito Juarez International Airport and would be built on the area of the Texcoco lake bed nearby, said two people with knowledge of the project, few details about which have been revealed. 

 

The current airport, Latin America's second busiest after Sao Paulo's Guarulhos, exceeded maximum operating capacity more than 50 times in 2012, and a new one has been discussed for years...

U.S. and Mexican officials reported June 27 a number of achievements under their High Level Economic Dialogue, which was established in September 2013 to advance strategic economic and commercial priorities. The HLED meets annually at the cabinet level while sub-cabinet members work throughout the year with private sector leaders on ways to make North America's shared economy stronger and more efficient. The next cabinet-level HLED meeting will take place this fall...

 

 

 

 

 
 

 

 

Mexican telecoms reforms are forcing the break-up of billionaire Carlos Slim's America Movil empire, Latin America's biggest telecoms company. Mr Slim, one of the world's richest men, says he will bring America Movil's market share below 50. Its Telmex fixed line subsidiary has 80% of the Mexican market and its mobile Telcel operation 70%.

 

 

 

 

  

With a number of major carmakers building assembly plants in Mexico over the next several years, including Audi, Honda, Mazda and Toyota, logistics companies are expanding their North America coverage into the country and in some cases working together to enhance services. 
 
One very recent example is found between rail provider Union Pacific and transport and logistics provider Pacer International.This conference will bring together U.S. companies and project sponsors from throughout Mexico to discuss specific project and procurement opportunities in the transportation and telecommunications sectors.
