A MESSAGE FROM YOUR BOARD
Dear RAC Members,
The proposed amendments to our Association's by-laws went out to professional members for a vote on 7/13. Included in the mailing was also a nomination for director ballot. To be counted, return ballots must be postmarked by 7/30. Please take a minute now to vote if you haven't done so already.
The results will be published in the August issue of this Newsletter.
Thank you to the many of you who have renewed your RAC membership! As you know, our fiscal year begins July 1st and as such it is membership renewal time! We appreciate every one of you that continues to support RAC. Your contribution makes it possible for for RAC to continue its work in strengthening representation of reflexologists in California. Nominations are now being accepted for serving on the Board. It is the 100% volunteer work of Board members and committee members that make it possible for RAC to carry out its mission statement, and serve its members. If you know of anyone who may be a great fit, please email your nomination to Vice-President Leslie Myers at vp@reflexology-ca.org. This year we continue our work in strengthening the organization, increasing public awareness about Reflexology and enlarging our membership base.
Your support is truly appreciated.
Sincerely, President Board of Directors Reflexology Association of California

For the first time in history, reflexology was represented at an International Congress on Integrative Medicine and Health conference. Not just once, but four times! Over 1000 participants from around the world, mostly MDs and PhDs, gathered in May to continue their goal of expanding and further developing the field of integrative medicine worldwide. Christine Issel, supported by the Reflexology Association of America and the American Reflexology Certification Board, was one of four chosen to submit an abstract and poster on reflexology. The poster was titled Reflexology and Integrative Cancer Care and the Research Behind It. This was a history-making opportunity to expose those working in integrative medicine to reflexology. There were a total of 380 posters on scientific research; four involved reflexology! Heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to Christine and the three other women who stepped up on behalf of reflexology and all those who could benefit from its inclusion in their healthcare treatment plan. An expanded report will appear in the RAA Reflexology Across America summer magazine. The ICIMHC was held in May 2016 in Las Vegas, NV. For more information, visit their website. Have you Checked the Calendar on RAC's New Website?
Continuing Education Credits are important for every Reflexologist.
Networking opportunities are excellent for any business.
It is with the above thoughts in mind that we have created an Events page in RAC's new website that contains a Calendar listing networking events and continuing education opportunities for Reflexologists. We are making every effort to keep this Calendar current and list as many workshops, classes and events that we know of. Please feel free to send any submissions for the Calendar directly to racreflexology@yahoo.com. Thank you!
