NAIFA-Jax Joins Florida's "Learn to Save" Challenge!

Florida Learn to Save Challenge

Florida's "Learn to Save" Challenge, hosted by Florida Chief Financial Officer Jeff Atwater, is now open! Florida is home to an abundance of young filmmakers and artists seeking to jump start their future careers. We want to nurture this ambition, while encouraging them to learn about finances, especially budgeting and saving. Middle and high school students in Florida are challenged to creatively illustrate the importance of financial literacy for a chance to win monetary prizes and have their creation displayed in their region.

For more information on the challenge, please visit:

Florida Dept of Financial Services
From the FL Dept of Financial Services:

Agency Registration to License Conversion

House Bill 633, passed by the Florida Legislature in 2014, included significant changes to agency licensing. One of these changes repealed the provision that allows insurance agencies to obtain a registration in lieu of a license, and converts all agency registrations to licenses on October 1, 2015.

if your agency holds a registration with the Florida Department of Financial Services, your agency's registration will be converted to a license, in accordance with the changes outlined in House Bill 633.

Market Correction Shows Middle-Market Need For Advisors

The stock market has taken investors on a crazy ride recently, most notably with the markets falling off sharply yesterday before rebounding somewhat today. What tomorrow will bring is nearly impossible to predict.

Market volatility is nothing new. Corrections have happened before and they will happen again. When it comes to those investing for their retirement, experts agree that the biggest danger is that people will make hasty or even panicked decisions.

This is where the services of a professional advisor can be particularly valuable.

Two new features have been implemented within the NAIFA Member Profile system.

Update My Draft Information: Members can now manage and update their monthly payment (credit card or bank) information as needed.
