Message From the President
Frank Mantay, CFP NAIFA-Jacksonville President
Celebrate - Educate - Advocate
If you attended our Day of CE on February 26th, then you know what a fabulous turn-out we had along with outstanding instruction. Whether you attended the new 5-hour Ethics course or one of the courses focused on advanced uses of life insurance and IRA planning, you walked away armed with powerful knowledge. Information that will make you a better advisor and sought after resource. A great big thank you to our sponsors and Cheryl Canzanella along with her team for making this possible. This month we focus on advocacy. It is so important for our legislative body to hear from us. While you are meeting with clients, attending training sessions and spending time with family, NAIFA is advocating for you and your livelihood. Just this past week, Paul Broome led his team to various meetings with local state legislators to build relationships and deliver checks to those representatives who support your career. Yes, it's that straightforward and logical. NAIFA supports those who support you. March 10th will be our annual Day on the Hill in Tallahassee. There is still time to sign up and if needed, carpool with another NAIFA-Jacksonville member. Our members will team up and approach assigned legislators with talking points. If you're uncertain what to say, just tag along and watch the pros in action. Bottom line: most of our elected officials are sincerely interested in hearing what is important to you. They also enjoy getting to know their constituents. By attending, I can promise you this: it will be a career changing experience. Finally, as the weather slowly begins to warm and the promise of spring arrives, I sense our association growing with enthusiasm, fun and membership. Take a chance on someone and ask them to join your professional association. You'll be proud you did.
