Food Drive to support the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank

The Kindergarten classes are sponsoring Warner's food drive from November 13 - November 16 to help the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank.

The Regional Food Bank supplies food to over 600 charitable agencies that distribute it to low-income children, families, senior citizens and individuals in need throughout Los Angeles County.  The Food Bank currently provides the equivalent of 833,000 meals every week.

Here is how you can help:

Donate nonperishable food items in the Food Bank donation boxes located outside the Warner office during the drive.

Much needed food items include:

  • canned protein such as tuna, sardines, stew, soups
  • peanut butter & jelly
  • canned fruits & vegetables
  • fruit juices
  • staples such as beans, rice, pasta

In years past, Warner has donated over 2,000 lbs of food to help those in need during the holiday season.   This is a great opportunity to involve the whole family and make a difference for those less fortunate.

Thank you for your help!

A message about lunches being dropped off

Please make sure that your child's lunch goes with your child in the back pack every morning.  Please limit dropping off your child's lunch in the Main Office during school hours.  The office is being swamped with too many forgotten lunches and we ask that you no longer drop off your child's lunch to the office and just make sure it goes with them in the morning.  Your attention to this is greatly appreciated.

Thank you Carpool Volunteers!

Pumpkin
Since Holidays are around the corner I thought it would be nice if this entry had a delicious Pumpkin recipe!
Pumpkins are chock full of fiber and beta-carotene. Also, the free radical neutralizing powers of the carotenoids in pumpkins that may keep the cancer cells at bay can also help keep the skin wrinkle free.
Pumpkin
Let's indulge this month with a rich fall favorite with the sweetness of pumpkin and butternut squash.  You'll smell the crisp fall air and hear leaves crackling under your feet!  Serve with a dollop of sour cream and fried sage leaves for an elegant presentation
2 cups Pacific Organic Creamy Butternut Squash Soup
2 cups Pacific Organic Free Range Chicken Broth
1 carton Pacific Organic Pumpkin Puree (17.6oz)
1 teaspoon brown sugar
¼ teaspoon salt
⅛ teaspoon pepper
¼ teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
1 cup whipping cream
  1. Combine Pacific Organic Creamy Butternut Squash Soup with Pacific Organic Free Range Chicken Broth in a saucepan over medium heat and stir.
  2. Add in the Pacific Organic Pumpkin Puree, brown sugar, salt, pepper, nutmeg, and pumpkin pie spice and bring to a boil.
  3. Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes.  Add the cream and cook until heated through, about 2 minutes.

For more information or to contribute and/or to be a part of our group please contact
Margie Weiner at 323-610-2836 or email at margieweiner@me.com

Westside PavilionWESTSIDE PAVILION

Save your purchase receipts from the mall including restaurants, theatre and all the shops and by logging them in the Guest Services on the 2nd floor of the mall, mentioning WARNER for your school, they'll give us points which turns into dollars for our school at the end of the school year.  Consider purchasing American Express Gift Cards from them which have the lowest fee and the highest points for WARNER!!
