A note regarding parking:
Dear Warner Ave. Parents:
My name is Sarah Mallory and I am the Westwood Field Deputy for Councilmember Paul Koretz, who represents the Fifth Council District in the great City of Los Angeles.
I know a few of you have become more aware of this fact more recently due to an issue with parking surrounding the school. The City's Department of Transportation just had their policies changed for all relaxations of preferential parking, which led to miscommunication and misunderstandings. However, thanks to the work of the Councilmember, your amazing Principal Corwen and many active parents, all has been resolved! The "relaxation" of preferential parking restrictions (noted by signs in the neighborhood) surrounding the school will remain.
So, please know that the following locations will continue to have relaxed parking based on the requests from Warner Ave. Elementary:
1. Both sides of Holmby Ave. between Loring Ave. and Le Conte Ave. 2. Both sides of Le Conte Ave. between Holmby Ave. and Warner Ave. 3. Both sides of Warner Ave. between Strathmore Ave. and Le Conte Ave. 4. Both sides of Loring Ave. between Thayer Ave. and Wyton Dr. 5. Both sides of Woodruff Ave. between Warner Ave. and Wyton Dr. 6. Both sides of Strathmore Ave. Between Warner Ave. and Wyton Ave. 7. Both sides of Wyton Dr. between Loring Ave. and Strathmore Ave.
This will remain in effect for all school days, Monday - Friday from 8:00 am to 9:00 am and 2:15 pm to 3:15 pm for the month of October. Also, Tuesdays have early release, so relaxation would also include 1:00 pm - 3:15 pm on that day of the week.
I apologize for the confusion or stress this may have caused, but I am happy to see that all has been resolved due to the quick work of everyone involved and the direct request of Councilmember Koretz. If you have any further questions or concerns about this issue or any other affecting your neighborhood, please feel free to contact me by email at sarah.mallory@lacity.org or through my office at 310.289.0353. Additionally, please sign up HERE to receive Council District 5 updates via our newsletter if you would like to learn more about the goings on of CD 5!
Warm regards, Sarah Mallory

Warner's "Kids Who Care" community service program offers many volunteer opportunities throughout the year for Warner parents and kids. This is a chance for our children to learn about the value of helping others and giving back to the community.
Click here for a list of planned community service events for the school year. Warner students who complete 10 hours of service by the end of the school year will earn a "Kids Who Care" certificate. The Warner student who earns the most hours will receive a special prize at the end of the year. And the Warner class that earns the most hours will be treated to a pizza party!
Click here for the form for tracking your child's hours. Forms should be submitted by the end of the school year.
Look for Warner sponsored events each month. If you would like more information or to suggest volunteer activities, please contact Laura LaCorte at llacorte@usc.edu

RALPHS
Help us earn money from Ralph's simply by scanning your Ralph's Reward Card with the scan bar code letter you received in the first day package next time you shop at Ralph's and they'll send Warner a percentage of your purchases. You need only scan the letter once to be in their system for the school year and just scan your Reward Card as usual. You need to scan it again even if you scanned it at the beginning of the last school year.
WESTSIDE PAVILION
Save your purchase receipts from the mall including restaurants, theatre and all the shops and by logging them in the Guest Services on the 2nd floor of the mall, mentioning WARNER for your school, they'll give us points which turns into dollars for our school at the end of the school year. Consider purchasing American Express Gift Cards from them which have the lowest fee and the highest points for WARNER!!
eSCRIP
eScrip has rebate relationships with many different vendors. Go to www.escrip.com and register your grocery cards (Pavilions, Vons); Macy's card; and all credit cards. Shop at your usual stores in town. If you use your registered card for a purchase, Warner automatically receives a percentage. If you go through escrip.com online shopping mall, many more merchants are available that will give Warner a % of your purchases. You must renew your Von's registration with escrip every September.
Target
Every time you use your Target Redcard or Target credit card when you shop, Warner gets 1% of your total purchases by calling 800-316-6142 and designating Warner as your school. Or register online at
www.target.com/redcard 1) Click "Take charge of education" 2) Click "enroll now" 3) select zip code and type 90024 and then select Warner Ave 4) type your redcard account number and name
This is an easy process and takes less than 5 minutes - please sign up.

Box Tops
eBoxTops are worth 10 cents each, and they add up fast! Our school can use the money to buy whatever it needs! Here's how:
Sign up to support Warner at: BTFE.COM/HERO
For all questions contact: Jacklin Yamin - jacklinyamin@sbcglobal.net or Anita Hedvat - hedvats@sbcglobal.net
There is potential for our school to earn thousands of dollars through these programs so PLEASE participate and sign up.
THANK YOU for supporting Warner!!
