Dragon Happenings
Dear Imagine Families,
Our 4th and 8th graders will demonstrate  their writing skills this week. The FCAT Writing assessment is given statewide on Tuesday, February 26th. One prompt is given to all 4th graders and another to all 8th graders. The students have 60 minutes to plan, draft and complete their writing sample. We know our students will give it their best! Parents of 4th and 8th graders can support their student by ensuring they get a good night's sleep and have a good breakfast.
Dress Down Reminders- When students utilize their Spirit Card and dress down on Wednesdays, there are still restrictions. Several styles have shown up at school and are not allowed: sleeveless tops, short shorts with tights and non rubber-soled shoes.
School Safety- The school recently completed a lockdown drill. The drills help us identify strengths and weaknesses of our plan. We're instituting a change that we want to share with our parents. The classroom doors will remain locked at all times. Visitors will need to knock on the door to enter. If you have any questions about this change, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Enrollment Deadline
|  For New Parents and Parents with Siblings-
We notified parents a few weeks ago that a seat was offered to their child. The offer expires on March 1st. Parents must submit the completed registration packet or forfeit the seat. We have a long list of students on our waiting list and seats not secured with a registration packet by March 1st will be offered to the next families on the list.

Quiet Campus
|  The annual state assessments (FCAT and End of Course exams) begin this week. On Tuesday we administer the Writing portion of the FCAT to students in grades 4 and 8 in the morning.
During the administration of these tests, we do not allow volunteers on campus. Our goal is to maintain a quiet environment with minimal movement in the hallways during testing. We all want the students to do well, and your understanding of a closed quiet campus is much appreciated.
The reading, math and science exams begin in April and the school will again be a closed quiet campus.

Box Tops
|  Congratulations Box Top Winners!! The following classrooms have collected the highest amount of Box Tops during the 2nd Quarter of the school year. All winners will be receiving a popcorn party in their classroom. - Primary: Mrs. Smith

Great job to everyone who has brought in box tops! We collected 3,315 box tops for Quarter 2, bringing our overall total to 14,087. We will continue to collect box tops throughout the school year and have popcorn parties for the classrooms who collect the highest amounts each quarter. However, we have ONLY one week left to submit box tops towards our goal of 25,000 box tops for the 2012-2013 school year. Please get them in by Thursday, February 28th. Now's the time to bring in that stock pile of box tops before the end of the week so they can be submitted towards this year's goal! We are working hard to raise money to upgrade the technology in our school. We can't do it without your help and support! We're excited to kick off the Boosterthon Fun Run at Imagine on March 4th!
The goal of the Boosterthon Fun Run is to raise funds while teaching our kids about the importance of Fitness, Leadership, and Character. Funds this year will go towards enhancing the technology at our school. Parents, we need your help to connect your child with sponsors! We are very excited to have the Boosterthon Fun Run Team on campus for a second straight year, as they will be adding value in so many ways to our students and school!
