Dragon Happenings
Dear Imagine Families,
Students and staff returned to school on Tuesday for the start of the third quarter of the school year. Imagine School at Land O Lakes is in the process of the charter renewal. Our 5 year charter expires in June, and we're working closely with the district to complete all the renewal documents. This is a normal procedure that occurs at the end of each charter contract. Two Pasco charter schools completed their renewal last year. We do not anticipate any concerns with the renewal given our high academic scores, student waiting list, and permanent facility. Our thanks to the Pasco Sheriff for assigning deputies to the school after the incident at Sandyhook. You will notice that a deputy is parked in the parking lot sporadically. I'm also pleased to announce that the School Resource Officer from Sunlake High School now stops by the school at least once a day. Don't forget that this week there is an Early Release at 1pm on Wednesday!! This issue includes information about an upcoming parenting class, a family fun night, drama club, middle school dance, enrichment classes and some PTO notes.

Parenting Class Coming!
| Mark your calendar! I'm pleased to announce that the same parenting classes offered to district schools is coming to Imagine on January 22nd!
Tuesdays from 6-8pm Free child care provided. Cost to parents is $5 for the parent guide. The program is focused on parenting children aged 5-12.
Active Parenting is a positive parenting program designed by Dr, Michael H. Popkin, a psychologist whose focus is helping families in today's uncertain and dangerous world. Active Parenting teaches parents everything they need to know about instilling confidence in their children, nonviolent discipline techniques, and encouraging mutual respect. The program offers a variety of tools to help raise happy, healthy, and successful children.
Active Parenting isn't just for parents. Guardians, grandparents, childcare providers and teachers will also find the information taught by the Active parenting programs very informative and instructional.
Please reserve a space by sending the following information to kristen.conway@imagineschools.com : Names of adult participants, and whether child care will be needed.
The presenters will be coming from FDLRS Gulfcoast. It is funded by the Florida Department of Education. FDLRS Gulfcoast provides services to Pinellas, Hernando and Pasco Counties.
