Andrea Pellegrini's compositions reveal a jazz which is fascinating and evocative. His music is inspired and influenced by the art of Modigliani and by Africa, a common presence both in jazz music and in the paintings and sculptures of Amedeo Modigliani.
Italian pianist and composer Andrea Pellegrini has a background in classical music, but then he devoted his talent to the jazz music world. He has played with Italian musician Paolo Fresu and is very active in Italy and in Europe.
Mirko Guerrini, playing with Andrea Pellegrini at this concert, studied piano, saxophone, classical composition and jazz music at the Conservatorio "Cherubini" in Florence. He then was part of Stefano Bollani's band. Mirko at present is Adjunct Fellow and Teaching Associate at Monash University in Melbourne.
