"Uomini contro" (Many Wars Ago)
by Francesco Rosi, in Italian with English subtitles

Based on the memoir "Un anno sull'altopiano" by Emilio Lussu, Uomini Contro (Many Wars Ago) describes the horrors of the trench war fought on the Italian-Austrian front during WWI.
This film was chosen by the Berlin Film Festival in January 2015 to pay tribute to Francesco Rosi, whose films "with their explosive powers are still persuasive today" (Berlinale Director Dieter Kosslick).
Cast: Gian Maria Volonte', Alain Cuny. Screenwriters: Francesco Rosi, Tonino Guerra and Raffaele La Capria.
