Dr Barbara Pezzotti *, Honorary Research Fellow of the Australasian Centre for Italian Studies (ACIS) will talk about two popular crime series set during the Fascist dictatorship in Italy. The first series is by Carlo Lucarelli and features Inspector De Luca who investigates crimes during the Republic of Salo` and after World War II; the second series is by Maurizio de Giovanni and showcases Inspector Luigi Alfredo Ricciardi who uses his "superpowers" to solve crimes in Naples in the '30s.
