Istituto Italiano di Cultura (IIC)
Set in the heritage building of Elm Tree House in South Yarra, the Istituto Italiano di Cultura is the cultural Office of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Its mission is to promote Italian Language and culture, through a great variety of activities - language and cultural courses, concerts, talks in Italian or in English, exhibitions, film and documentary screenings.
The IIC collaborates with the major Australian institutions to organise cultural events with an Italian flavour. Each year the IIC is also a proud sponsor of the Lavazza Italian Film Festival.
A Library of Italian books and DVDs overlooks a lovely terrace; free wifi is available for students and members. All this and much more can be found at the IIC in Melbourne.
This course is suitable for students of Italian origin who wish to learn the basics of the Italian language and who have a good oral knowledge of the language, but don't feel confident in speaking Italian.
Survival Italian *
An intensive course designed specifically for people who are planning a trip to Italy and need to learn some basic survival phrases in the shortest possible time.
Libri da film *
A new short course (total 10 hours) on Italian cinema for Intermediate-Advanced students of Italian. The course will feature a selection of Italian novels adapted into movies.
