Talented Australian artists Nikki Hill (soprano), Jade Moffat (mezzo-soprano), Matthew Reardon (tenor) and pianist, composer and conductor Stefan Cassomenos, will perform arias by Giacomo Puccini, Gaetano Donizetti, Francesco Paolo Tosti, Vincenzo Bellini and Pietro Mascagni.
Giacomo Puccini (Lucca, 1858 - Brussels, 1924) is considered one of the greatest composers of Italian opera. While his early work was rooted in traditional late 19th-century romantic Italian opera, he successfully developed his work in the verismo style, of which he became one of the leading advocates.
His most characteristic work, which includes La Bohème, Tosca, Madame Butterfly and Manon Lescaut, fuses erotic passion, sensuality, tenderness, pathos and despair.
