Istituto Italiano di Cultura
Elm Tree House
233 Domain Rd, South Yarra
26 & 27 July 2014
(10.00am - 4.00pm)
"Elm Tree House" was built in 1857 for William Macredie who was a pioneer in the Australian Life Insurance business. He lived in the house until his death in 1891. The house remained in the Macredie family until 1920 when it passed into the Estate of Harry Emmerton who was a prominent solicitor. The Italian Government purchased "Elm Tree House" in 1974 and the Istituto Italiano di Cultura moved from its previous location at 947 Punt Road.
This special event will mark the 40th anniversary of the residency of the Istituto Italiano di Cultura at this prestigious address.
Join us for the celebration. Participate in a 20 minute demonstration lesson for a taste of Italian with one of our fantastic teachers (morning and afternoon sessions). There will be a number of activities on this occasion to promote the IIC Melbourne's courses and cultural events.
