Sloths - Valentina Vannicola / On Off Picture

Valentina Vannicola was born in Rome in 1982. After a degree in Film Studies at La Sapienza University of Rome, she went on to a diploma in photography at the Scuola Romana di Fotografia. Her images are strongly influenced by cinema, theatre and literature. Valentina Vannicola's photographs can be included within the staged photography field, that area of contemporary photography which presents as real scenes that were created according to the dynamics of cinematography. The characters of her shoots are non-professional actors from Tolfa, her home town (a small town north of Rome), and they act in the natural country setting she chooses to represent her imaginary world.

Valentina is also a scriptwriter and a costume and set designer.
