Have you ever left a conversation feeling like the person on the other side of the table or at the other end of the line  wasn't listening, wasn't understanding, or--worst of all--wasn't grasping the importance of what you had to say?

If so, you're not alone. A recent survey found that nearly 75 percent of nonprofit communicators feel that their messages aren't heard.  Not good news when it comes to pitching a potential new donor or a member of the media.

Among C.Fox's areas of expertise is helping organizations better describe what they do, how they do it, and most importantly, why others should care. It's the answer to that last question - the WHY - that gets people not just listening to you, but caring about what you have to say.

What's your why?  If you find yourself struggling to answer that question, let's talk.

Read on to learn about the latest C.Fox happenings and why tomorrow night is such a special one for me.

C.Fox News and Notes:

Tomorrow, Carrie Fox will Sleep Out to Support Homeless Youth; Help Her Reach Her Fundraising Goal
On November 21, Carrie will join 30-plus Washington-area business leaders and sleep out on a Southeast D.C. street in support and solidarity of homeless youth. Tomorrow night, Covenant House Washington (a C.Fox client) will host its second annual Sleep Out: Executive Edition to raise awareness and critical funds to ensure Covenant House can continue to protect, advocate for, and support homeless youth.  Washington, D.C. has one of the highest rates of homeless youth. It's estimated 3,000 young individuals struggle with homelessness on an annual basis and on any given night, 400 youth turn to sleeping on the streets of D.C. Carrie's goal is to raise $5,000 to support Covenant House Washington.

Earlier this month, The Theatre Lab School of the Dramatic Arts celebrated its 21st year with a spectacular Cabaret Benefit Dinner and Auction. As the largest, most comprehensive, independent nonprofit school for the dramatic arts in the area, The Theatre Lab awarded more than $80,000 in scholarships this year to children and teens in need, and serves some of D.C.'s most marginalized populations including homeless women in recovery, incarcerated youth and seniors living in nursing homes through its Life Stories outreach programs.

There's still time to support The Theatre Lab. Start by following them on Twitter @TheatreLabDC
