September 2013 | Edition 16
Greetings!
This month, I come back to the agency after a several week hiatus, feeling enormously lucky for the very special team that I am surrounded by at C.Fox Communications. They're a remarkable, smart, creative group of folks who are just as genuinely passionate about their work and about our clients as I am, and I hope you feel it as much as I do. So, in this "just back from maternity leave" edition of our newsletter, I must start with a simple thank you to the very special people who make this operation sing, and who let me truly step away this summer.
People are everything in this business, and I'm proud to have some of the best. Read on to learn about our newly expanded group, as well as some of the special projects we've been focused over this summer. All good things, Carrie Fox President C.Fox Communications |

C.Fox News and Notes:
September marked the start of two new members of the C.Fox team, and we couldn't be more excited about it.
With a knack for storytelling, and boundless enthusiasm, Sara has a long track record of getting her clients noticed, for all the right reasons. This month, Sara joined C.Fox as a Senior Director, from Susan Davis International where she developed and executed strategic public relations campaigns for clients including Giant Food, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund, and the Marine Corps Heritage Foundation. With nearly a decade of experience working with social entrepreneurs, non-profits, foundations, corporations, and government organizations, she's versatile, nimble, and always up for a challenge.
Jillian began her year-long graduate student fellowship with C.Fox this month; a program that the agency runs in partnership with American University. While earning her graduate degree, Jillian will further polish her strategic communications skills, supporting the team on a range of C.Fox clients.
Moving On Up
This summer, we promoted three rapidly rising stars at C.Fox.
Eileen served as C.Fox's first graduate fellow from American University before joining the team full-time as a Senior Associate in August 2012. Eileen was promoted to Senior Director in August.
Julia first joined C.Fox in June 2011, interning for a year and a half before joining the team full-time as a Marketing Coordinator. We promoted Julia to Marketing Manager in July.
Anna began her time with C.Fox as a Public Relations Intern in January 2012. She joined the team full-time as a Junior Associate. Anna was promoted to Associate in July.
Carrie Fox Is Named as One of PRWeek's 40 Under 40
Last month PRWeek named Carrie Fox to its 40 Under 40 list. The annual list is comprised of the most promising public relations professionals from agencies, corporations and nonprofits around the country. PRWeek recognized three other D.C.-based communicators, including David Humphries, Director of Global Communications for Global Communities, a long-time client of C.Fox Communications.
Carrie and members of the C.Fox team attended the PRWeek 40 Under 40 awards dinner in New York on September 17.

What's Your One Thing?
Insights from C.Fox Vice President, Public Relations Bethany Hardy
Information is everywhere we turn. We live in a 24-hour news cycle, and, thanks to Google, we can now instantly access information that might have taken our grandparents days or even weeks to find. What's more, with email, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and you name it, there's never a shortage of messages coming at us by the minute. Amid this reality, our clients often ask us: When you have something to say, how do you break through?

There's a new little Fox in town, and her name is Kate Cassidy. A big welcome to the newest little one, born July 30th. Little Kate has already been to her fair share of meetings in the C.Fox conference room. (although we admit, she sleeps through most of them.)
