Bug Busters USA Celebrates 30 Years!
1984-2014
Neil Parker and our team members have grown Bug Busters USA from a basement home office to a regional full service pest control company providing services in AL, GA, NC, SN and TN. Bug Busters has grown thru dedicated hard working team members providing quality, timely and professional services. Over the years Bug Busters has had opportunities to grow thru acquisitions of other pest control companies. This growth has brought on additional dedicated team members and valuable clients. Bug Busters prides itself for being a diverse company committed to philanthropic organizations which have opened the door for new opportunities for us to serve our community.
Neil Parker started Bug Busters in 1984 as a single man operator and one sales person after his successful departure from Orkin Pest Control in Atlanta. Bug Busters USA's first purchase was Pest Control Authority company in Dec 1999 which opened up the multi-family division that is active today in GA, AL and TN. We are active members of AAHRA, CCHROC, GAHRA, SAHMA, TAHRA and Atlanta Apartment Association. Court Parker, CEO, has spoken on numerous occasions to these organizations regarding Pest Control and the eradication of Bed Bugs. Our commercial pre-treat division started with our first termite pre-treat at the Galleria Mall in Atlanta GA.
We started to expand our commercial pre-treat division by joining Associated Builders & Contractors and Associated General Contractors of Georgia. The commercial pre-treat division was called to TN and later NC which grew to the point of opening a branch in Chattanooga, TN in 1997 and Gastonia, NC Oct 2003.
All our vehicles and uniforms were given a fresh new look as Bug Busters adopted YELLOW as our official color in 2000.
The residential branch in Chattanooga grew as we acquired Knox Pest Control in 2000 and CBS in 2007. Our Southside Metro Atlanta branch was established 1996 with the purchase of Mid- South Pest Control. We continued to grow after the acquisition of Abel Tru-Kil Pest Control Service Inc. out of Senoia & Maddox Exterminating Inc. out of Stockbridge. In Jan 2009 we expanded into northeast GA with the acquisition of W&W Pest Control out of Winder.
In 2012 as the country saw increased activity in Bed Bugs, we formed a Bed Bug Division. At that time we purchased our first of three Thermal Remediation units to serve our customers' needs. (See below)
Tibbitts Exterminating Company from Austell GA was acquired Jan 2013. The same year we added a 4 legged friend, Kinsey (See below center) our Bed Bug sniffing dog to our team with a full time trainer, Lynn Tibbitts. The Chattanooga branch continued to grow first quarter as we welcomed customers of Nicholson Pest Control. We partnered with TAP (Thermal Acoustic Pest Control) offering attic insulation with a pest control component to our service areas.
(See below) Our 20th and latest acquisition for Metro Atlanta was Kelly Green Pest Solution in 2014.
Throughout our 30 years we have felt it is important to support local youth programs and our community. Programs we have supported include ABC Chili Cook-off, numerous Touch-a-Trucks shows, local Parades, Toys for Tots, No Shave November and Race for Cure, even changing out our yellow uniforms for pink ribbon uniforms.
