Greetings!
We are in some deep summer heat, but fall is around the corner! It's only 6 days and 160 hours until school starts...
Weather forecasters are predicting 'near normal' fall temperatures, but we are surrounded by 'above normal' areas. I think it is going to be a beautiful extended summer :-)
If you need some help to get excited for the next season - you are in luck! Read on:

Family Flowers annual Fall Festival is coming up - save the date: Sept 19-21!
This year brings new and exciting activities like:
- pony rides by Farmtown Canada's Funny Farm on Thursday and Friday 10-4
- a pumpkin carving station (leave the mess with us!)
- family photo backdrops - just bring your camera and the family, we have supplied fall themed backdrops!
And of course the ever popular events:
- free face painting by Mary MacVoy on Saturday 11-4
- BBQ lunch on Saturday 11-3 (with proceeds going to Farmtown Canada's Funny Farm)
- free petting zoo and feed the animals
- life size straw castle with plant sales + $5 off coupon
It is always a fun weekend and we look forward to seeing you there! An excellent (and inexpensive) fall kickoff for the whole family - don't forget your camera.

Where have all the IMPATIENS gone??
Downy Mildew has officially hit southern Ontario. This has proven to be the 'death' of many beloved impatien plants.

If you have suffering impatiens, the good news is that there is nothing wrong with your green thumb, the bad news is that it might be awhile before impatiens can be happily planted again...

As you may know, Impatiens have been a 'staple' here at Family Flowers - adorning the windows and doors all around Ed + Annette's house next door for years. Downy mildew has not hit them yet, so it will be interesting to see what happens next year...

The Straw Castle Stands Tall

After a little planning, the straw castle was built over a two day span. Family Flowers is 'famous' for a couple of things: the pink petunias, the Christmas lights, and the STRAW CASTLE.
Stop in for a visit and wander through. Don't forget your camera for the Family Photo Backdrops
Ever wonder how the castle begins? Click here for castle building tips.

| The Garden Mums are ready, the Fall Plantables are out, Straw Castle is up and the Fall Festival invitations are being handed out - all things point to... FALL!
I look forward to seeing you at the Festival in a couple of weeks - it is so much fun for the kids (of all ages) and the Family Flowers staff too.
If you require more information about the festival, or know of a photographer who would like some practice, please feel free to email me anytime.
Thanks for reading and enjoy your day!
Sincerely,
