Greetings!

Can you believe we are into the 30th week of the year already!  By next week we will be into August!  Backyard BBQ's and summer vacations are in full swing.

Hopefully you survived last week's heat wave...
Finding ways to beat the heat can strike up some pretty creative ideas: Baking cookies in the car or you can stick to the traditional 23 ways to beat the heat.
Another Way to Keep Cool:
Planting Poinsettias!  Yes, you read that right - last

The next batch of cuttings will be planted Mid August.

Purple Fountain Grass

Pennisetum setaceum 'Rubrum'

An extremely showy and popular selection of Fountain Grass, seen frequently as a focal point in containers and annual plantings. Plants form an upright clump of deep burgundy-purple leaves, bearing arching bottlebrush flowers that change from red to tan. Although not winter hardy in most regions, this may be treated as an annual or wintered indoors. Clumps are easily divided in early spring, still getting large and flowering the same year. Widely used in municipal plantings.

Growing Conditions:

  • Full sun
  • Normal, Sandy or Clay soil
  • Keep soil moderate to moist with water
  • Easy to care for

Appearance + Characteristics:

  • Red/brown plumes in late summer, early fall
  • Good for border, containers, cut or dried flowers, mass plantings or specimen
  • Deer resistant
  • Height = 90-120cm (35-47")
  • Spread = 60-90cm (23-35")
  • Medium growing rate

Available now and in the Fall as a
