SOCM members meet legislators to discuss primacy
|
On Tuesday March 17th, SOCM members travelled to Nashville where they met with lawmakers and discussed this proposed legislation.
Members urged lawmakers to consider the impact of this legislation on the health, wealth and environment of Tennessee communities. SOCM members would like to thank the representatives who took the time to meet and speak with our members.
SOCM has been closely monitoring the passage of this proposed Bill through the House and Senate. As of March 25th, the legislation was passed from the Senate Energy, Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee to the Finance, Ways and Means Committee. Senator Yager alluded to more work being done on the finances to create an expenditure-neutral fiscal note. The House legislation was heard in the Agriculture and Natural Resources Subcommittee on the same day and passed to the full Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee.
SOCM is asking our members and supporters to call their Senators and representatives urging them not to pass this legislation. Keep telliing them to vote NO on SB 0842 and NO on HB 0833.
