Register Today for SOCM's Public Meeting and 40th Anniversary Closing Celebration
Saturday, May 18th, 2 p.m. CT
Tennessee State University, Nashville

Please lend your voice to hundreds of SOCM members, community leaders, legislators, and other organizations working for change in Tennessee, at SOCM's Public Meeting and 40th Anniversary Closing Celebration.

Register here! Registration deadline is Monday, May 13th.

Hear directly from members about the work they are doing to improve the quality of life for themselves and their neighbors. Find out how your efforts fit in and how you can be most effective in building power and creating change in Tennessee.

Issues we will present at the Public Meeting affect residents statewide. They include:

  • environmental concerns about water quality and extraction issues,
  • building a green-collar economy and fighting for jobs in our state,
  • combatting negative stereotypes in the media that contribute to racial tension in our communities, and
  • overarching problems in marginalized communities, poor communities, rural communities, and communities of color.

After the Public Meeting, stick around for a fun celebration closing out our 40th Anniversary Fundraising Campaign - a perfect opportunity for mingling and networking with a diverse group of leaders across this state.

All events on May 18th are free and open to the public so bring a friend! Childcare will be provided. Vans will be picking up members in many areas so register today to reserve a spot.
