The Mt. Pleasant Chamber of Commerce is pleased to introduce its new President and CEO, Bret Hyble. Bret will begin his position as Chamber President & CEO immediately. Bret has lived in Mt. Pleasant for over 26 years and has over fifteen years of experience in the service industry as a manager and development administrator. His most recent position was Director of Development at Sacred Heart Academy and Parish. He was responsible for all fundraising efforts for the Parish, Academy and Sacred Heart Academy Foundation. Prior to Sacred Heart, Bret was employed at Central Michigan University and involved with many aspects of athletic development including major gift, event management and the membership based organization Chippewa Club.
Bret holds a Masters and Bachelor's degree from Central Michigan University. His community involvement includes volunteer work with Make-A-Wish, P-E-A-K fundraising committee, CMU Athletic Hall of Fame selection committee and coaching for Mt. Pleasant Parks & Recreation as well as Sacred Heart Academy.

When it comes to safety, you can never be too safe! Trooper Mike White, State Police, will be presenting a personal safety awareness training that will better help you and your business be a safer place.
This Lunch & Learn will focus on:
- de-escualtion technology,
- identifying how to handle dangerous situations or people,
- states of mental awareness, awareness of body language and characteristics of suspicious armed individuals.
Trooper White will also elaborate on reading people with "danger" signs and positioning when dealing with different types of people.
Don't forget your bag lunch and come down to the Chamber to enjoy this exciting Lunch & Learn! Desserts and beverages provided by the Chamber.

Join us at the next Young Professional Networking Event as Angie Evans from WCFX builds our foundation of Young Professionals at the Mount Pleasant Discovery Museum! The goal is to expand our group this year by first networking professionally and personally with members, new and old. Bring a friend or co-worker to join in on the fun.
Throughout the event, lunch, games and icebreakers will help everyone loosen up, have fun and get to know each other. Enjoy games such as "10 Things", "Purses, Pockets and Wallets" or "Where the Wind Blows". What are these you may ask? Well, you will have to come and find out!

Running a business means a lot of numbers coming from every different direction. Doing all the math can just make your head spin. Jan Garver, is here to show how QuickBooks can maybe help some of your math dilemmas.
April's Lunch & Learn will focus on the two-step process to see if QuickBooks is right for you- (1) consult with a tax professional and (2) find out which QuickBooks fits your company needs. Jan will expand on what QuickBooks can do for you when it comes to reports, payroll and tax savings. Lastly, she will show the comparisons between QuickBooks and other accounting programs. Like other Lunch & Learns, there will be time for a question and answer period so put your thinking caps on!
