A LETTER FROM MS. SULLIVAN
Dear Saints Parents:
You will begin seeing more and more boxes and empty space in the front entrance and offices of the school in the few remaining days of school. As was explained at the State of the Saints meeting, this entire area will be emptied Friday, June 7 and construction will begin after all students are dismissed on Monday, June 10. There will be new security improvements, new nurse's health office, new administration space, new conference room placement, and asbestos removal. The school office will be closed for all of June and early July. Watch for news updates and security improvement details and drawings that will be coming under a separate email.
Congratulations to St. Raymond School and thank you to Capannari's. We had fun with their Scoop It Up contest and finished in 2nd place. Thirteen area schools participated in the ice cream contest sponsored by Capannari's. With our love of ice cream and everyone's help and support, we earned $1,200 for SRS. It was an amazing day and evening with so many St. Raymond families and faculty/staff enjoying ice cream, good conversation and much laughter.
Mark your calendars for the St. Raymond Baggo Tournament. It will be held Friday, August 2nd and Saturday, August 3rd. Just in time for alumni, students, parents, grandparents, neighbors and St. Raymond friends to gather for fun, food, laughter and prizes before summer ends. All proceeds will benefit SRS technology and marketing initiatives. We are looking for volunteers who would like to help with the tournament. Please contact the school office.
Bravo to the cast and crew of the Wizard of Oz. The performances this past weekend were amazing. The St. Raymond Parish Youth Theatre Group rose to the occasion and did us proud. We had many of our students performing and many parents helping with a variety of jobs and responsibilities. It was a great family outing for children of all ages. We are looking forward to next year already.

We said farewell to our 8th graders in our all school mass on Tuesday, May 28th. Members from each grade provided our 8th graders with advice that will help them in high school and life. The 8th graders wore cap and gowns. It was a wonderful celebration of the positive impact they have had on SRS. The SRS students, Pastor, parents, faculty, staff and community blessed our graduates for all they have given to us. We all commissioned each 2013 class member with a pin that stated "I Make a Difference." We sent them forth in God's love, and to be God's light for others in the world. Go Make a Difference Class of 2013.
The 8th grade celebration continued with the Graduation dinner Thursday, May 30. Thank you to the 7th grade parents and students who planned, hosted and served the dinner. During the evening, awards were presented including Academic Honor Roll, the American Legion Awards for Academics and Citizenship, and the Presidential Excellence awards. A wonderful Class of 2013 Remembrance Video, Class Prophecy, tributes and special class song were all part of this amazing evening. Student and parent reflections were shared.
Twenty-five families were also honored, as their last child will graduate from St. Raymond this year. Wow, our hats are off for your dedication for Catholic school choice. Our hearts and faith have been tied with these families for eight to twenty four years of having a child at St. Raymond School. For these families and all our parents, Thank You!!! Your commitment is commendable and we are truly grateful.
Congratulations to the class of 2013
and their parents!
Our 3rd grade showcased their "simple machines" on Thursday, May 30 for the whole school. Students showed off simple physics, gravity, fulcrums, pulleys, weights, levers, stretch force and much more as their knowledge of how machines work was applied through their functioning inventions. Well done. The little scientist and physicist were wonderful as they explained and demonstrated their inventions.
Our Math Lab, Lego, Coin, Drum, and Rockin' Readers spring clubs finished their last sessions for the year. Thank you for all those that participated and made these clubs so much fun. We look forward to next year and hopefully expanding our offering to meet our student's interests and needs.
Next week will be busy with Science Olympics, field trips and class parties. We look forward to a wonderful week of learning, field trips, picnics and fun.
Peace,
Ms. Sullivan

NEWS FROM THE HEALTH OFFICE
Our attendance has been very strong this week! We did receive a couple reports of STREP this past week though. This was reported in the primary grades and the Junior High area. We have had reports of fevers, ear aches and stomach related issues but again the numbers of these reports have been low.
Again I thank you for your help in keeping all the children of St. Raymond's happy and healthy. And please continue on into the summer months to: promote good hand washing, encouraging adequate sleep and providing nutritious meals. All these practices help maintain good health.
We will be having our annual Science Olympics next Tuesday and we strongly advise all our students to wear gym shoes and apply sunscreen before leaving for school that day to help with the day long activities that are planned. This all is as the weather dictates but these measures can aid in the fun and health for all the students.
Next week will be a very busy week, with many fun and interesting activities planned. Our pre-school population has and will be having their last day of school, this week and next. Our 7th grade will be learning about CPR/AED next week. Our 8th grade will be graduating next week. We have a number of planned field trips for different grade levels. Many events planned by many of our teachers.
Our last Laughter Yoga will be next Thursday 6-6-13! Please try to make our last session the Best of all! We will meet in the lobby of the PLC at 7:45am and hopefully enjoy a lot of laughter before the start of our Thursday morning.
Stay Happy and Healthy!

FAMILY & SCHOOL ASSOCIATION
It has been another very successful year for FSA. Due to the fabulous efforts of our many volunteers we are able to give $18,000.00 back to the school! This money will be used to purchase items for both the Inquiry Based Learning program and the Literacy Closet. Additionally, the money we raised will be used to support our AVIC, Hospitality,Teacher Appreciation and Cultural Arts programs. We could not have been so generous without the support of the many families who contribute through our various fundraisers during the year!
I'd also like to welcome our new officers for next year! Rosa Fardella will be joining Nicole Hennig as Co-President and Donna Diblik will be taking on the role of Treasurer. Thank you for volunteering to help lead FSA! Also, a huge THANK YOU to Padra Meyer who has been Treasurer these last two years. She has done a great job of organizing and maintaining the FSA books!
We still have two committees open for next year. Please consider volunteering for these worthwhile endeavors! As always if would like more information or have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at lmaggi@mac.com.
