Make eLearning Work for You
When employees need to learn new skills or keep current on in-house training, web-based Electronic Learning (eLearning) courses are useful and efficient. Similarly, when a consumer would like to learn about a specific product or service, a great way to reach them is through eLearning initiatives. Some companies have recognized that eLearning can be profitable in terms of marketing, brand-building, and consumer satisfaction. Business-to-Consumer (B2C) eLearning can help companies stand out from their competitors by offering something others currently may not--an additional touchpoint and the ever-crucial opportunity to engage with the customer.

Create and Evaluate

eLearning courses are usually self-paced, written in layman's terms, and engaging. They can be viewed on a computer or mobile device, are eco-friendly, and easy to update. Most importantly, they can boost profits. eLearning courses can take different shapes and personalities--from simple to complex. The courses can engage users by using games, scenarios, simulation, and interactivity. These techniques not only teach eLearners what they need to know, but they also pique--and keep--interest.
When beginning an eLearning initiative, it is important to research and obtain a Learning Management System (LMS). You can choose to enlist the help of an LMS provider, or control it in-house with an LMS solution such as Absorb LMS. The LMS is where eLearning courses are hosted, and allows the successes of your courses to be measured. Choosing a comprehensive LMS with top-notch reporting capabilities will ensure you are able to make adjustments where needed to help you meet and exceed your company's goals.

Boosting Credibility
A survey conducted by Digital Wits reported that small- to medium-sized businesses with at least one year of eLearning courses under their belt attributed a 37% increase in product sales directly to the courses. Additionally, 34% of the businesses surveyed said the courses increased customer loyalty and retention, and 29% said it increased their position as a top-of-mind provider in their market niche.
Large corporations have also joined the eLearning journey by providing certification courses to salespeople who represent their products. These certification courses educate and train salespeople so that they are knowledgeable about products and important sales skills. By providing these types of certification opportunities, corporations are engaging the faces of their brand, and building excitement, which leads to more sales.
It is time to acknowledge eLearning as a profit producer. Companies both large and small should consider eLearning in order to educate consumers, drive sales, and boost profits.

Sincerely,

Mona Graham
