**We schedule labs in the summer based on feedback from you! Please use our Technical Assistance Request form to let us know if you have a special training request for the summer.
Do you know that SoonerCare will pay for an iPad to be used as an Augmentative-Alternative Communication (AAC) device? Maybe you already knew this, but have experienced difficulty finding a Durable Medical Equipment (DME) provider to help you submit your request. Oklahoma ABLETech recently became an authorized DME for iPads for qualifying SoonerCare members! If you are interested in learning more, please visit Oklahoma ABLETech's website.

Free Stuff
I'm sure you know all about Tar Heel Reader and how you can find and create FREE books with customized pictures and text to speech. Betcha don't know how to download those books to your iPad, open them in the iBooks app, and hear the book read out loud! Jane Farrall is an AT/AAC specialist and has posted step-by-step instructions on her blog on how to do this. Happy reading!
Grab Bag
Make Promises Happen is an Oklahoma based, year-round camp for individuals of all ages with disabilities. Every year a group of campers travels to Colorado to go skiing. This video shows campers having a great time on the snowy slopes! Maybe you know someone who would like to attend camp or volunteer as a counselor this summer or during the school year? No Tech Corner
We all know that highlighting text on a worksheet or textbook can be an effective, no-tech assistive technology support. Check out these erasable highlighters from Onion Mountain Technology. They are great for those times when you make a mistake, or for textbooks that you do not want to have permanently highlighted.
Wishing you all the best!
