| Greetings! |
Congratulations on completing your OAAP portfolios! What? You haven't even started yet? Whew! Good thing you can access our OAAP activities, for FREE! Not sure how to access the activities on our website? Check out these handy dandy video and printed tutorials.
And for just a few $$'s, you can join us during one of our upcoming OAAP Portfolio Development Labs (see Upcoming Training Opportunities column to the left). During these labs we walk you through each step of how to download, open, and use the activities on our website. You also have access to all of the materials you need to make five no-tech activities to take home with you! |
| Activity of the Month |
When I taught in Alabama, my OT came in with a couple of tubs of CoolWhip and a blue tarp. She proceeded to smear CoolWhip all over the tarp and invited my students to take off their shoes and go 'Ice Skating'. What fun!!! A little messy and there is always the potential of a spill, but the kids LOVED it. (Sorry, this has nothing to do with AT!)

| Amazing Apps! |
Purdue University students created SPEAKall!, a FREE iOS app. This AAC app can be configured to work as a PECS board, where the user drags a symbol to the message window to construct a sentence OR as a communication board that speaks messages when a symbol is touched. Download it from the iTunes store. Watch a demo video. |

How cool would it be if the iPad or Windows/Android tablet could be accessed via eye gaze technology? Some researchers in Denmark are working to make this, currently expensive access technology, something that more people can tap into. Read the NPR article here.
