THE WINNER IS | |
Last month we invited you to enter a drawing for a free Beam N Read personal light, by telling us who you would give the light to and why. We selected one lucky winner at random.
Cynde has already received her light and tells us that she has given it to her 87 year old mother, who still mows her own lawn and does everything around the house. But, sadly, her favorite pastime was stitching and she can no longer do it because the house is too dark. Now with a new hands-free light we hope Cynde's mom can keep stitching!

Beam N Read
hands-free light |
Here are just a few of the suggested uses we received for this handy light:
- Hospice care-giver to keep active at night without disturbing her patient.
- Quilting in the car while travelling.
- Needed light for working puzzles and reading.
- Reading to daughter at bed-time.
- Taking medications during frequent power outages.
- Hands-free light for a power company lineman doing nighttime repairs.
- And lots of stitchers who need light to keep doing what they love as they age and their eyesight diminishes.

CARIBBEAN CRUISE | |
Leave from New Orleans
March 24-31, 2013
Join Nancy on this amazing cruise of the Western Caribbean with two on-board applique classes. For the first class, on your way south, Nancy designed a truly unique applique quilt depicting the Mayan pictograms of dates as they appear in the ancient Mayan Long Count and Calendar Round. After you sign-up for the cruise, let Nancy know what date is important to you and she'll provide your personal pattern on the cruise. Here's a sneak peek at one block:

Sign-up soon to reserve your space, and to get your supply list. Of course, you can order kits with fabrics selected by Nancy specifically for these amazing quilts.
Nancy's stress-free applique method requires only fabric, needle, pins, thread, scissors and a thimble (if you want to use one.) Perfect for ease of packing and for that relaxing vacation experience.
